REEDER'S PROPHECY XVIII- IN TOWN

Yesterday was so exhausting for me. I have been working like a dog. Thank God! My good friend Mike has been helping me with this project I am doing. I did not have the time to even see Mystery Man. I only see him in the evening.

Last night was special. We got spend so much time together. We were talking in my apartment... it led to another thing. You guess?

I was convincing him to come to Manila and spend the holidays with me. Of course, he told that he would try his best.

I spent two great nights with him.

Today, he leaves for another journey. For me, I have to pull some clothes and do some returns.

To be honest with you guys, I will miss him. Yikes!!!

FABULOUS EXHAUSTION!!!

This past weekend, I have been working non stop to pull some amazing outfits for my friend T.M.
She hired me to be her stylist for her reality show on CW channel. Am so excited, but I am so beat as well. For the past few days, I have been pulling some amazing ball gowns for her, her sister, and her lovely mother.

I am glad that I am busy. On top of that, Mystery Man is in town. I do not know what to do. I still have to work and show my best.

It's not just the glitz and glam working in fashion. You have to have style and the will power to swallow all the criticisms you can absorb.

I gotta go.

PLANNING FOR A SHOOT!

Last Friday, I got a call from a friend of mine who is a very famous socialite. I was running in Central Park and my phone kept on ringing. When I looked at my phone, it's her. I sent her a text message and I told her that I am going to call her back.

The moment I got back to my apartment, she called me again. I was still doing my workout routine. She told me that she wants me to be her stylist for her reality show on TV. I thought she was bluffing. I was so happy because I've done it before. I met her when I was an editor for a famous magazine. I did not realize that she was watching and observing my every action.

I am so excited.

LAST NIGHT!!!

I am such a happy person. I became happier when I relieved myself from all the negative energy around me. It's such a good feeling.

Here's the scoop. Last night, Yara and I went to the Peninsula Hotel to meet my friends. Michael and Leonard, who owns a huge interior design firm in New York City. They have been partners for years. They designed some of the best apartments in the city. Their home in upstate New York was featured in the November issue of Elle Decor. Yara enjoyed their company. Of course, we had to celebrate.

After the meeting, I had to go to Minetta Tavern. I arranged dinner plans with Jonathan Riss of Jay Ahr and my fashion guru. I admire these two men. When I say love, I love them both. I won't discuss our conversation last night because it is not proper. Hahahahahahahaha.

You know what? They hit it off. They got along perfectly. It made me so happy.
My guru and I had to share a cab. I was so tipsy and tired.

Indeed, it was a successful night. No more drinks this week.

OCULAR INSPECTION!!!

Today, I had a meeting with emerging designer Loris Diran. I have known Loris through Lady Betty Grafstein and Jose. We had lunch at Balthazar and we discussed business. After our sumptuous lunch, I had to meet Pia from Lulu DK.

We visited our friend Karla Keskin at her new job, the Crosby Hotel. The hotel is designed and owned by Kit Temp. Crosby Hotel is a chain of hotels from London that includes the famous Soho Hotel.

Karla toured us. I felt so light when I was in the hotel. Every room is different. It was a pleasant afternoon for me. I love it.

The in hotel to be is at the Crosby Hotel.
Big Kiss.

QUEEN OF PARISIAN STYLE- INES DE LA FRESSANGE

From my previous blog entry, My guru and I attended a party hosted by Roger Vivier during fashion week. We met the famed Parisian lady, Ines de la Fressange. From that event, we gained a good friend. I consider her as the jewel of France.

I love it when French women dress up, effortless. She puts on a tweed jacket, flats, and a pair of jeans and she is good to go. At the recent UK Telegraph, Ines was dubbed as the most stylish woman in France. She knocked out Carla Bruni from the top of the list to number 5.

As the ambassador of Roger Vivier, she has been promoting the brand world wide. Meeting her was a fresh of breath air. She has a sense of style. My guru and I can't forget the diamond bow necklace she was wearing... vintage Van Cleef and Arpels. We were talking to her the whole evening and we gained a friend.

She is very stylish and talented. She leads the pack of women that exudes style and elegance.

Viva La Ines de la Fressange.

BYE BYE MISS AMERICAN PIE!!!

I had a wonderful meeting today with some of the most prominent designers in New York. Charlie and I had a successful week. We can't wait what these designers can whip up for next year's Fall/Winter 2010 collection.

After my endless meetings, I had to meet my friend Virginie from Jay Ahr. She just got back from Paris. We have not seen each other in the longest time. She has been busy with the house of Jay Ahr and I've been working on some projects. After two glasses of white wine, it's time for me to head home.

I walked home to my apartment happy. I had a long chat with my guru because he makes me feel good. My mind is clear and I have been distancing myself from negative people. I am following Anne's advice that I should slowly detach myself from people that bring in bad energy. So far, I am doing okay... it's like doing my workout and diet. She was telling me that I should surround myself with good people. She told me that I always welcome people in my life without filtering. As what they say, it is better late than never.

As a Taurus, I make a firm decision. It's not hard for me to let go because I move on fast. Now, I feel much better.

There are so many good things happening to my life. I cannot save the world and I should leave it that way.

All I think of right now, I feel the love.
I pray for the soul of my departed Aunt from Washington DC. She has been my proud supporter ever since. I love her and she will always be a part of me.

NEGATIVE THOUGHTS...OUT OF THE BALL GAME!!!

I had a fulfilling day. I had a couple of meetings with various designers today that deserve the SAGA sponsorship. It was a success.

Then, I had to meet my good friend Anne. After talking to her about positive things in life, I realized that I have to start omitting the negative people in my life.

The hardest thing in life is letting go. I have to make a decision to let go of the people that are burdensome to me. It's a tough decision, but I have to do it.

Being a good Samaritan is good. Most of the time , it bites you in the ass. Letting people in my life is easy, but I do not know how to filter. Anne made me realize that everyone is interrelated.

Now, it is time for me to let go of all the people that add so much burden in my daily existence. I know it is too harsh to do it, but I have to take action right now.

Hey! I am not getting any younger. I deserve peace in my life. I do not need people who are negative and depressing to add to my unending happiness. I know some of you may not approve of it. I have to do it now. It's never too late.

Mystery man always tell me to be careful with the people I hang out with because I am too nice. You know what? He is absolutely right.

I should let the good energy run my life. All the negative people around me should be thrown in the garbage can.

The process will start tomorrow.

THE VIXEN'S SHOES- GIVENCHY!!!

Barneys New York makes me feel like I am in candy land. I always pay a visit to my shoe guys in the store. All along I thought the merchandise were all the same, I was wrong. They just got in new shipment of Givenchy. I almost cried like Pandora.

You know how I get obsessed with shoes... it's so Gipetto. There were these elastic black boots from Givenchy, I tried it on and it fit like a glove. I felt like a vixen for a split second. When I saw the price tag, it was not bad.

Then again, I had to control myself. I told Emerson to hold the shoes for me till I leave for the Philippines. My addiction to shoes... really bad. I have to get rid of that habit. I was shaking as if I just got out of shoe rehab.

While I am typing this entry, I am still thinking about the boots.

I asked myself, should I stop this addiction or not?
My conclusion, I am a shoe WHORE.

REEDER'S PROPHECY XVII- WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO!!!

Usually, I switch my phone to silent mode so I can sleep. This time, I forgot to do it. At 5am, I got a random call from Mystery Man. I was half asleep and half awake.

He is excited to come to New York. He told me that he might extend his trip or might stay for 3 days. He told me that it will be him and I.

I said, "How did your conversation go with Mr. Roboto?"

He replied, "It was very tragic Gipetto, but I had a couple of whiskey and it went fine. I had an excuse to leave because I was tipsy."

I have seen him tipsy at Casa Mono and he can be really funny.

He loved the Robot inspired model from Balenciaga. He was teasing me that I should be a robot for Halloween. I told him that it won't match my personality. If he can pull some strings with Nicholas from Balenciaga, may be I will wear it.

I could not sleep anymore. I told him that I had to go running.

He asked, "What do you wear in Central Park?"

I said, "Leggings. I only wear leggings, a dri-fit turtleneck from Nike, and my blouson track jacket."

He said, "Very sexy, no wonder why you get these men from the park."

I told him that I had to go. He gets jealous when I start talking about men. HAHAHAHAHA!

He made my day.

Of course my music for the day is from Donna Summers, "I FEEL LOVE".

REEDER'S PROPHECY XVI- MR. ROBOTO!!!

I had a great time with my friend Claudia and her beau. She just came back from Europe to rap up fashion week for Spring/Summer 2010. After a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, I had to go home and do some chores.

I forgot that my phone is not on silent. Of course, I got a random call from a blocked number. Guess who? Mystery man. He is so excited to come to New York and eat at Casa Mono. He was telling me about his travels, but I was too tipsy to listen. I know he had some great adventures, but I just could not pay attention.

He was telling me about his bland friend. When I say bland friend? A friend with no personality and no drive to talk. I was laughing because he could not stand people like that. I just told him to be cool with him and talk about happy stuff. Trust me, it can be a drag sometimes to talk to people that have no PERSONALITY.

We started sharing funny stories about ROBOTIC like people. I was laughing so hard that my doorman told me to keep it down. I told Mystery Man that I have to rest because I had a fun-filled week.

He is coming back to New York for a few days. Who knows? We might have a ROBOTIC bland conversation. I can't blame him. It is tiring to talk to people with no personality. Then again, we are all human beings. No one is perfect.

Quick Question? Why are these ROBOTIC like people are in any industry? So tragic.

NOUVEAU!!!

I always believe in emerging designers. They add the spice in the fashion industry. New York is known for producing talented designers... thanks to Anna Wintour's CFDA/Vogue Fund award.

To tell you the truth, I even interned with one of the designers. Now, we help each other in making the fashion industry a fun playground to play in.

Besides believing in these designers, relationship is one of the key elements for success.
Robot like people in the industry should be kept in STORAGE.

POWERFUL COLLECTIONS FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2010

There were so many mixed messages during the Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion week. New York, Paris, and Milan produced the best collections for this season. Women morphed in becoming strong, tough, and powerful individuals. In this economy, women have to be tough and make bold choices. Now, the vixens are on the lose. The modern Glamazons can withstand all the obstacles in life. Beauty and toughness lead to an unstoppable army of incredible women.

Here are my top picks for the season:

1. BALENCIAGA
2. BALMAIN
3. LANVIN
4. CELINE
5. GUCCI
6. RODARTE
7. PRADA
8. ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
9. YSL

10. MICHAEL KORS

LANVIN RULES THE CATWALK IN PARIS!!!

I give 5 stars to Alber Elbaz for whipping an amazing collection for Spring/Summer 2010. The clothes are simple divine. He mixed two silhouettes together: loose and tight. In the beginning, his glamazons strutted the cemented floors of the warehouse in all black. As soon as the salmon/beige dress came out, Nirvana was experienced.

His attention to detail is beyond this world. If you take a close look at his creation, the amount of work and craftmanship is seen.

The jewelry, shoes, and bags work together. His women are powerful, but possess a soft quality to thing... Beauty.

This is one of Alber's strongest collection for the house of Lanvin... the hottest ticket in Paris.

VIXENS RULE PARIS!!!

The vixens experience full power in Paris. Two of the greatest heroines of the city of light: Balmain and Balenciaga. These two talented designers paved way to the modernity of fashion. Their women cannot be described by words. Every time I hear the names Balmain and Balenciaga... FASHION AND BEYOND.

These two designers separate themselves what New York, London and Milan are doing. They know what their women want to be... FIERCE and FEROCIOUS.
For this season, Balenciaga dismissed the notion of cocktail dresses. Nicholas Gheisquiere had enough of seeing these dresses on the runway. Who goes to cocktail hour? No one. He opted of going back to his roots... chic sportswear. There were a lot of high waisted pants with attention to detail. Sleeveless track jacket that fit like a glove. Shoes that say, "BUY ME or YOU WILL BE LEFT BEHIND." I believe this is one of his fearless and strongest collection. It is a departure from his fascination of draping from the previous collection. Needless to say, Balenciaga has been the leader in the evolution of fashion.

On the other, Christopher Decarnin of Balmain did an amazing job for the house. His vixens were not from the 80s. They evolved to powerful women who are ready for the kill. The mixture of silhouettes made this collection strong. He used a lot of leather, tattered knits, and Napoleon Bonaparte inspired jackets.

His ideal woman is from the Amazon jungle that morphed to something else... Modern.

These two designers make the fashion industry exciting. With a few disappointments from New York, London, and Milan; Paris will set the trend for an intense Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

In fashion, women want to dream. Right now, women want to feel powerful, strong, and ready in any obstacles that come along their way.

So this is what we call REAL fashion... GO FIGURE!!!
