She's BACK!!! Candy Pratts Price was appointed as the new Creative Director for www.vogue.com. She is one of Anna Wintour's favorite partner in crime. Candy made the website www.style.com as the number one online site for fashion.
She is always up for a challenge. Vogue.com will be Candy's new baby. She won't disappoint Anna. Why? She is one of the BEST editors in the fashion industry. She has a high level of taste and an eye for BEAUTIFUL THINGS.

I was bored with the EMMY Awards last night. Jimmy Fallon was not funny at all. He tried to make the audience laugh, but he does not have stage presence... too bad.
Before the show started, stars strutted in their designer ensembles. What caught my attention? January Jones. She took a huge risk by wearing Atelier Versace. She made the RIGHT CHOICE. For me, she was the best dressed amongst all of the actresses.
She walked on the red carpet as if it was a runway. The color of the dress complimented her skin complexion. Wearing Atelier Versace is like wearing ART.

One of my clients will be hosting the luncheon for Karl Lagerfeld on Sept 10. I had sleepless nights just thinking of the RIGHT ensemble. When I received an email from FENDI last Thursday, my fashion dilemma is over. I was thrilled and delighted that I started laughing by myself. Call me crazy, but it is like solving a difficult mathematical problem. They were happy to dress my client to honor the MASTER.
Now, I can move on with some other tasks that I need to solve. I am very lucky that that there are so many people supporting my cause. Well! It pays off to be nice in the fashion industry.
One thing I learned from my mother is to always find a solution that will lead to the right answer. She groomed me properly.
In this modern world we live in, anything is POSSIBLE.

I do not know why, but I am such a happy person. My mother did an amazing job during my childhood years. As a Taurus, I get addicted to things easily. Right now, I have been listening to Teri de Sario's song, "Ain't nothing gonna keep from you."
It is such a happy song and you feel so PRETTY. I have tons of things to do for fashion week: 3 clients that I need to dress up, 2 fashion shows to style, and covering the shows for a magazine in Asia.
Whenever I listen to Teri's song, I just want to DANCE on the streets of New York.
I told my sister, April, that mystery man and I will dance to this song at her wedding next year... dance showdown.
Special thanks to Artus Concepcion for re introducing this song to me.

Through my friend Aneta, I was introduced to Brazilian jewelry designer Mary Esses. I met her last month at her posh Upper West Side apartment in New York. It was raining that day. I do not like getting wet because it ruins my hair.
All of her pieces are one-of-a-kind. I was blown away by her STATEMENT earrings. The earrings are perfect for red carpet events... SIMPLY STUNNING.
The trip was worth it. I left her apartment SMILING.

I was so tired yesterday from pulling clothes and accessories for my shoot tomorrow. Thank God I had the chance to relax and look at amazing pieces of jewelry from SEVAN. I have never seen such beautiful pieces like Sevan Bicakci's work. He is a true jeweler and an artisan.
All of his pieces are hand made and are one-of-a-kind. If you have money to drop on statement rings ($35,000 and up), I strongly recommend buying his pieces.
SEVAN pieces are sold at Barney's New York.
It is like wearing a piece of art.

Today, I had to pull some clothes and accessories for my client's shoot this Wednesday. It was raining and I was not liking it.
My last appointment was at Giuseppe Zanotti. My friend from Zanotti was helping me choose some great shoes, until my eyes gazed upon the Vionnet shoes. I froze.
Besides Thakoon and Balmain, Giuseppe Zanotti's collaboration with Vionnet will be a HIT.
The shoes are just amazing.
My sisters will start calling me and ask me for those shoes.

I was at the nail salon today having my manicure and pedicure, until my eyes glanced on the new issue of Harper's Bazaar's September Issue. I am very amazed on how they transformed Jennifer Aniston to look like Barbara Streisand. She portrayed BABS amazing poses.
We do LOVE Vogue, but you have to give a HUGE credit to Glenda Bailey and her team for making this issue AMAZING. I could not let go of the magazine. I believe this is the BEST issue they have done in the longest time.
Grab a copy and you will LOVE the issue. The styling is phenomenal.

I do not know what is going on in Miuccia Prada's mind, but she is GENIUS. The must have shoes is from Prada's Fall 2010 collection. She is a TRENDSETTER and knows how to dictate a following.
On the runway, she did one style of these stacked heel shoes with a metal buckle detail in different colors. Camel and pink; teal blue and black; purple and blue; powder blue and white; cream and brown are the color combinations she used for this season.
If you are looking for the PERFECT school shoes for FALL, go to PRADA and get a pair.
Trust me, no man can resist a woman in heels on Campus.

Last Tuesday at the Couture Council of F.I.T. summer party, two guests wore the SAME green Christian Cota dress.
If I was the designer, I'd be very happy that these two ladies wore my creations.
Blonde vs. Brunette. Who do you think rocked the dress? Perfect photos for US Weekly. Indeed, a double vision showdown for the guests to witness.

Yaz Hernandez, Alexandra Lebenthal, Charlotte Moss, and Liz Peek hosted the Couture Council Summer party at the French Embassy. The event was a huge success.
Well! The best dressed guest goes to Linda Fargo. I admire this woman's style. Besides her beautiful hair, she knows how to hit the trends for Fall 2010. She was wearing animal print. Amazing.
To accessorize her amazing look, she was carrying a pony skin tote bag. This lady knows how to make an entrance. My eyes zoomed on her. I was mesmerized with her whole ensemble.
I believe that she is one of the best dressed women in the fashion industry. She knows what she wants and she can pull it off. A perfect example of a MODERN woman.
My sister, April, sent me this picture of my niece wearing her Christian Louboutin pumps. Alexa is one of my muse and she is only 11 years old. She loves to look at her mom's closet. My whole family has an addiction to shoes... thanks mom. I guess Alexa will be following our footsteps.
I remember buying these shoes for my sister at Barneys New York. She was dying to have it. These are statement shoes with 6 inches heels. The ribbon detail makes it FANTASTIC. Perfect for luring a guy. Ain't that right sister? Hahaha.
Next thing I know, I will be getting a call from April asking me to buy Alexa a pair of Louboutins. Scary, but chic.
THE SHOES ARE TOO BIG ON HER!!!

The Couture Council of F.I.T's summer party was a success. It was held at the beautiful French Embassy on 79th and 5th Avenue.
Yaz Hernandez was the best dressed at the event. I always admire this lady because she puts things together with PERFECTION. She wore a dove gray strapless J. Mendel dress. Her stunning earrings are from Mary Esses. Her bracelet and ring are from Kimberly McDonald. The multi colored mother of pearl clutch is from Celestina. The blush python strappy sandals are from Jimmy Choo. She knows how to mix and match her brands. The perfect look for a chic summer party.
When Yaz throws a party, she knows how to dress the part.

I know September is fast approaching. I have so many things to do. Mystery man is coming to stay in New York for a month. I need to find the perfect dress for the luncheon on September 10th for Karl Lagerfeld. I am still doing my research in finding the right shoes for the show I am styling.
What am I going to do? I am not going to shoot myself. My life is too precious. I just have to breathe and handle things one at a time.
Thank God I had so much fun last night. I won't go into details. Use your imagination.
Monday, August 16, 2010
The Couture Council of F.I.T. (Fashion Institute Technology of New York) will host their summer kick-off party at the French Embassy.
Yaz Hernandez, Alexandra Lebenthal, Charlotte Moss, and Liz Peek are spear heading this event. It is by strict invitation only.
You can also see pictures of the event at Patrick McMullan the next day. Take care.

Seriously, my mind is blank. I just cannot write my proposal which is due this coming Monday. I have to make it simple, precise, and direct to the point. How I wish Mystery Man is here by my side? He helps me focus when I need to do something in detail... formal writing.
I wrote down all the bullet points I need. Still, my mind is just BLANK. Writing this entry may open up a couple of my brain cells... go to work.
I know I will write a good one.

Through Yara, I met Sean and his lovely wife Alejandra. We became close friends during Yara's wedding in Spain. It was so much fun...I won't go into details.
This coming Saturday, Sean Riva will showcase his work at the Morrison Gallery in Connecticut. It will be his first exhibit featuring all of his photographs. The great grandson of Marlene Dietrich has an eye for beauty. Behind the lens, he is a true master in capturing his subject. He has the passion and love for his work. I believe he will succeed. I will not be surprised that he'd be doing an exhibit at Sotheby's New York... like Francesco Scavullo.
There will be a cocktail reception at the gallery from 5-7pm.
Please come and help support my dear friend.
Here are the details:

I do not know why I am so addicted to Dries Van Noten. He is a genius. If you look at my closet, everything is from the Belgian designer... Dries everywhere.
My next purchase will be this amazing camel coat from Fall 2010. It is so chic and savvy. The black piping details add to the rich color of the trench coat.
I was at Barneys yesterday and I did not see this coat. For sure, Bergdorf Goodman has this piece because they bought the runway collection for this season.
I am going to check it out. I just love living in New York.

I am dedicating this entry to my favorite person in the whole world, my cleaning lady. Besides my family and mystery man, I adore Kayla (1646-500-0827). I consider her as my GEM. How do I begin? First of all, she is good in what she does. My apartment floors are white. Kayla manages to keep it so clean... I mean REALLY CLEAN.
Let's talk about my shoes. All of my shoes are individually stored in clear plastic boxes. She wipes every box so that it does not accumulate dust.
She also knows that I triple check her work. When she knows I laugh hard, I see dust.
I love her cause she is very loyal to me. She makes me laugh when she sees me stressed out.
I always make time to have lunch with her. She amuses me.
Indeed, she is a treasure to keep.

I am in the hunt for the perfect CHANEL look for my client. She is the Vice Chair for the upcoming Couture Council for F.I.T. this coming September 10. The council will be honoring Karl Lagerfeld.
Should I go with the classic pink, black, white? I am looking for vintage and current Chanel. I have to be prepared because I want my client to look good.

Designers like Lanvin, YSL, Fendi, Miu Miu, and Christian Louboutin are doing ANIMAL PRINT shoes in pony hair for Fall 2010. I am so excited. I can wear my 7 years old YSL leopard print shoes for Fall... so hip and cool.
You can always incorporate this print with your wardrobe. It will look luxurious with a CAMEL ensemble... fierce and ferocious.
I just love the influence of the 60s.
Barneys New York has it all. Please look for DONOVAN on the 4th floor of the women's shoes department. He will give you a ROYAL treatment.
You can go to www.barneys.com.

Besides Kimberly McDonald, I am enchanted by the designs of Shahla Kareen for Ludevine. These earrings called "Lovely" showcases the modern design of the brand. The sea horses rest in pave' diamond bezel settings in 14k gold. A round diamond sits in a gold bezel setting at the stud fastening.
If you have $7,300.00 to spend, I highly recommend this piece of art. No woman can resist this magnificent sea creature from the sea... CLOSE TO PERFECTION.
Available at www.brownsfashion.com.
PS: Every time I blog about sea inspired jewelry, I always think of Mystery Man on the high seas.

This coming September 10, The Fashion Institute Of Technology of New York will honor Karl Lagerfeld. This year's recipient will receive the Fashion Visionary Award.
Honorary Luncheon chairs include: Daphne Guinness, Lady Amanda Harlech, and Virginie Viard.
The event will take place at the Avery Fisher Hall at 10 Lincoln Plaza.
My client is the Vice Chair for the Couture Council. Now, I have to start finding looks for her that represents Karl Lagerfeld's work for Chanel.

Do you think the mean editors come from Vogue, Bazaar, W, Elle, In Style, Town and Country, V, Glamour, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Allure, WWD? NO. The mean editors come from the life style magazines. Of course, they criticize Anna Wintour and her crew. In the long run, they want to be like them... it will never happen. They are just a bunch of trying hard Anna like editor. Well! I used to work for one with no ABSOLUTE power.
Seriously, people who are confident about themselves are nicer than the underdogs.
Everyone wants to be like Anna Wintour. They can have the so called power, but they cannot have Anna's triumph.
They will DIE as editors. I do not hate people, but I dislike WANNABES.
I AM ANNA WINTOUR AND YOU ARE NOT!!!
Nacho Figueras is the face of POLO. During summer, people flock to the Hamptons and watch POLO matches. Women are drawn by Nacho's good looks and his amazing skills in playing the sport. He is not the only handsome player in the arena. Nick Roldan is also catching up on Nacho's fame.
Nick landed a contract with Wilhelmina Modeling Agency. On top of that, he was voted by Vanity Fair's, "Ten Hottest Horsemen".
I believe POLO is a sexy sport. Don't you think?

Verdura's caged ring is the ultimate jewelry to wear to a gala. It is the perfect conversation piece, if you have nothing to talk about. I just want to have all of these rings in various stone settings... TO DIE FOR.
I just LOVE big jewelry. I owe it to my mentor, Hedy Gold.
PS: Coco Chanel's collaboration with Count Verdura in the 1920s placed this house on the fashion map.

My sister and I have been loyal fans of Giambattista Valli. We believe he makes amazing party dresses. It is quite expensive, but it is worth your money.
I love this pink, nude, and black color combination. I can see my client wear this number for an important event in New York. This dress exudes femininity to the maximum level.
Giambattista Valli is available at Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys New York.
I just adore his creations.

Daphne Guinness is a TRUE fashion icon. Her fashion statement is out of this world. Being a fashion icon is being ahead of everybody when it comes to dressing up. She has her own look. She is a show stopper... a walking piece of art. Her vision and love for fashion is intense. She is the LAST of her kind.
Here are some pictures from last night's party hosted by ACRIA, Vanity Fair, and Calvin Klein.
