HURRICANE CONNECTION!!!

Tonight, I had dinner with one of my favorite publicists in New York. I won't mention her name. She is the daughter of a famous Hollywood actor. I've known her for 6 years. A month ago, she met actor Bryan Greenberg at New York's Hurricane restaurant. My friend is classy, composed, and lady like. What they forgot to do? Exchange numbers. He has a new show coming out soon in HBO. I always believe in destiny. I guess it is time for the two of you to meet again. Life is too short. We have to make the most out of it.

JUST SANDALS!!!

For Spring 2012, Lanvin hit it big with a phenomenal collection in menswear. The house became a go to brand for men who follow fashion. Last Spring 2011's scuba inspired sandals was the continuation of next season's hot item. You just can't have enough of Lanvin. It is very addicting.

THE BAG FOR SPRING 2012

For Spring 2012, Bottega Veneta designed a spectacular collection of accessories. Finally, the house decided to do color blocking for its bag collection. One in particular, a bag in shades of yellow, white, black, and bright pink caught my attention. The label is known for its woven detailing. I know it will cost an arm and a leg to get a hold of this bag. On top of that, I am sure there will be a pretty long wait list come next Spring. Well! One can dream of carrying this bag. I love it when the fashion label adds mixture of color to spice up the collection. Simplicity can be fun.

CAROLINE'S TRIUMPH ON THE RED CARPET!!!

Caroline Wozniacki wore a custom made Stella McCartney grecian inspired dress for the Wimbeldon kick off party at the Kensington Roof Gardens in London. The black ensemble gave the tennis player a feminine and sophisticated look. The bright nail polish gave color to her outfit. To complete the look, she wore a black clutch and sexy ankle strap shoes. Maria Sharapova may be the reigning queen of fashion in tennis, but Caroline is coming close. Bravo!!!

PRADA'S VERSION OF GOLF SHOES!!!

Summer just begun and I am craving for next year's Spring 2012 shoes from Prada's men's collection. She was inspired by Golf. Leave it to Miuccia Prada for giving it her own interpretation. Splashes of colors, and prints were seen on the runway. If the Brogue creepers were sold out worldwide, these shoes will be the next best seller.

MOSCOW'S FINEST- HOTEL NATIONAL!!!

After the 2011 Tony Awards, I had to fly to Moscow to see my client's collection. On the day of my departure, it was hectic for me. I had to do so many returns... thank God for my assistants. I was very exhausted and at the same time excited. I've never been to Moscow. The flight was 10 hours. My client made all the arrangements for my stay. She booked a suite at the Hotel National. The view of my room is the Kremlin.

The hotel was built by Russian architect Alexander Ivanov in 1903. The hotel is the pride and joy of Russia's historic landmark for more than a century. The grandeur and understated elegance of the property makes Hotel National a favorite destination for sophisticated global explorers visiting the city.

During President's Obama's visit to Moscow, he stayed at the hotel.
Waking in the morning and seeing the view of the Kremlin and Red Square is PRICELESS.

GLAMOUR LOOK!!!

Last week, my client graced the red carpet at the recent 2011 Tony Awards. She may not bring home the award for best featured actress, but she conquered the red carpet. The body hugging blue beaded mermaid dress showed my client's gorgeous body. The drama of the dress is at the back. She carried the Georges Chakra dress with elegance and style. You need to have a beautiful back to wear this dress. In my opinion, she is one of the best dressed that evening. The old hollywood glamour look works with her personality and natural beauty.

TSUM

A few minutes walk from my hotel is the famous TSUM department store of Moscow. The store reminded me of Barneys New York and Le Bon Marche in Paris. In Moscow, everything is very expensive. I spotted another version of my Prada Brogue Creeper shoes. I got them last January. It's double the price of what I have. Thank God I came to Moscow to work and not to shop. On the other hand, TSUM has the best selection of shoes, clothing, jewelry, and accessories. I just love it when the temptation is near. Now, I can practice resistance.

THE VIEW!!!

After the Tony Awards, I thought I could rest. I went straight back to my apartment to pack for my trip to Moscow. The next day, my assistant came to help me deliver all of the samples I borrowed for my client's event. I gave her detailed instructions. In a matter of minutes, my doorman called and said that my driver had been waiting. My assistant brought down my luggage. I was ready to go. The flight to Moscow was 10 hours. What did I do? I popped a sleeping pill. I was knocked out. Next thing I knew, I was in Moscow. My agent booked me at the Hotel National. Heads of State around the world stayed in this magnificent place including President Obama. The view from my room is the Kremlin. I am loving every minute of it.

CHANGE OUTFIT!!!

My client conquered the red carpet at the recent 2011 Tony Awards. She wore a blue beaded long sleeve gown from Georges Chakra's Fall 2011 Collection. At the after-party, she changed into an Eva Gardner inspired orange dress from J.Mendel. The diamond earrings and bracelet are from Chopard. Her copper shoes are from Christian Louboutin. Even though she did not get the award for best actress, she got everybody's attention.

CONQUERING THE RED CARPET!!!

My client did not received the award, but she conquered the red carpet. Wearing Georges Chakra couture and Chopard jewelry, she floated and glided on the red carpet. Her deep blue beaded dress proved that she can make it anywhere. The most important thing is my client is a good sport. There is more to come with her acting career.

SHOW TIME!!!

After a month of preparation, tonight is the big night for my client. She is nominated for best featured actress in a musical. Yesterday, we made the final decision of choosing the perfect dress for the occasion. We decided on a form fitting dress. The color of her ensemble will make her stand out amongst the rest.

At 3pm today, my team and I will be there to see the final touches. On the other hand, the jewelry will be stunning.

After seeing her walk out of the hotel, I need to rush home and pack for Moscow. Busy as a bee.

FINALE!!!

Tomorrow will be my final fitting for my client. She is up for a nomination for Best Actress this coming Sunday's award show. With the two fittings combined, I pulled over 100 gowns for the said occasion. We narrowed the selection to 5 amazing red carpet dresses. 3 pieces are from Europe and the remaining 2 ensembles are from New York. I've learned from other stylists' previous mishaps. This is my first big event and I want it to be close to perfection. Everyday, I keep on praying that she wins. What I like working with her? She has a good heart. It will open HUGE doors for my team and I. All the hard work will pay off.

BACK AT THE CARLYLE HOTEL-LEA SALONGA!!!

Tonight, Lea Salonga will be performing at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City. This will be the second time she will be serenading the crowd. Lea commissioned Filipino New York based designer Robin Tomas to design her one-0f-a-kind outfit. She will be wearing a black dress with a hammered gold beaded belt. The ensemble will give Lea the commanding power to wow her audience. Lea is one of the first Filipinos who gave prestige to the country. Her role in Miss Saigon garnered awards from the broadway critics in New York and London. I can't wait to see her again perform live. I am glad she is proud to be a Filipino. Congratulations to Robin Tomas for doing a superb job. I believe in your ORIGINAL work. Keep on charging.

INTERPRETATION!!!

Goyard is the oldest luggage and accessory company in the world. Known for it's chevron print, celebrities and consumers are big admirers of the brand. Last week, I was on Madison Avenue and I passed by the Roger Vivier boutique. I noticed a black, white , and red pattern clutch similar to Goyard's print. Not to look the same, the company did the iconic buckle pattern. The initials RV (Roger Vivier) were stamped onto the clutches. On the other hand, Pierre Hardy's printed clutch is another modified version of the famous print. The designer designed uneven building like blocks in black and white. The evolution of prints can be distinguished amongst these designers. Who did it first? I guess you know the answer. I commend the other fashion houses for re interpreting the print without being accused of copying. For me, I love them all.

THE PERFECT CHOICE!!!

Yesterday's fitting was successful. In a matter of 2 days, I pulled 60 gowns for my client to try on for her upcoming event. The moment she arrived at the venue, we started trying on dresses. I had to do my edit so she she won't be overwhelmed. After 2 hours, we decided on a magnificent dress. All I can say, the ensemble is a show stopper. I jokingly said to her, "Once you receive the award, please don't forget to mention your glam squad." She started laughing and said, "I won't forget."

It made my day. All my hard work paid off. I would like to thank my two assistants, Alanna and Carolina, for being hard working, dedicated, and patient for this challenging task. My gratitude to all of my friends in the fashion industry who helped me make this fitting happen. In the end, it pay offs to be nice, honest, and real in the industry I work in.

Big Kiss!!!

BUTTERFLIES!!!

Last week's fitting didn't go well. She loves all of my choices, but she had a specific look she wanted. As a Taurus, I love a challenge. It took me 2 days to gather 60 red carpet dresses. I am very thankful to all my peers in the fashion industry for all their support. I am experiencing butterflies in my stomach right now. When I am a little nervous, things go my way. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

After this, I need to focus on my business trip to Moscow. My mother always give me sound advice. I know God is by my side. I can feel it.

L'AMOUR FOU-PASSIONATE LOVE!!!

I had to take a 3 hour break in preparation for my final fitting tomorrow with my client. I took the advice of my dear aunt, Paola Isabela Tornito, to watch the documentary film of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge. Indeed, he is the leader of his time. After the death of Christian Dior, he assumed the position as head designer of the house at the age of 21. Then, he continued designing collections under his name. YSL is known for deriving inspirations from different cultures of the world. His success made him one of the innovators in fashion. His work can be seen in some of the collections of international designers. Jean Paul Gaultier is one of the few designers who took note of YSL's genius work. The film is currently showing at the Paris theater in New York. After viewing the film, I was motivated to make good of my craft. It was worth every minute of my time. I am glad I made the decision to sit down, relax, and enjoy a movie. When you are passionate with what you do, success is not far behind.

INSPIRATIONS FOR A WEDDING!!!

My younger sister will tie the knots with her German fiance this coming December. I have been helping her with the preparations. I am still searching for the perfect wedding dress. She wants to wear vintage Cristobal Balenciaga. Her entourage will be wearing tutus inspired from the movie, "The Black Swan". Her bridesmaids will be wearing feathered head pieces inspired from the movie, "Water for Elephants". The color scheme of her wedding will be in dark camel, blush pink, and lilac. The festivities will be held in Manila. I can't wait to see everything come together.
