CAMERON DIAZ'S MAGNIFICENT LOOKS!!!

Cameron Diaz showed to the world that she can strut on the red carpet with elegance and style. The actress wore a beige/white strapless gown from Gucci Premiere at the recent Oscars. The dress showed Cameron's perfect body. The detail of the dress is extraordinary. The asymmetrical detail starts on her right hip. It gave her a soft and constructed look. The diamond necklace added grandeur to her show stopping persona. She looked like a siren goddess from the 50s. Aside from Gwyneth Paltrow's amazing look, she is one of my top picks for best dressed. When she presented an award, her dress moved freely. She looks like she was gliding on stage. Jennifer Lopez tried so hard to look sexy, but Cameron showed sophistication and class. At the Vanity Fair party, she wore a tangerine orange dress from Victoria Beckham. Rachel Zoe did an amazing job collaborating with Cameron. You can't help but to be mesmerized by Cameron's beauty. Amazing.

GWYNETH PALTROW RULES!!!

White was the color of choice for last night's red carpet at the 84th Oscars awards. As mentioned from my previous entry, Mila Jovovich and Cameron Diaz made an impact. The actress that remained supreme is none other than Gwyneth Paltrow. She wore a white sheath gown with a matching cape designed by Tom Ford. The ensemble came from Tom Ford's recent Fall 2012 collection. The designer launched his womenswear in 2010 and never got the buzz on the red carpet. I have been an admirer of Tom Ford since his days for Gucci and YSL. He is a genius. Thanks to Gwyneth, the designer established his mark. She accessorized her gown with a white gold cuff and ring. Her flawless hair and make-up is effortless. Gwyneth learned from her past mistakes. Remember the black Alexander McQueen gown she wore? It wasn't flattering at all. She learned that simplicity is the essence of sophistication. Being simple doesn't mean it's boring. You need the right designer like Tom Ford to whip-up an ensemble that is unforgettable. The dynamic duo's mission was a success. She proved to the whole world that she is the queen of the red carpet. She exuded grace, elegance, and style. Will this generate sales for Tom Ford? Definitely. She rules. Congratulation to her glam squad team. Bravo.

ANGELINA JOLIE'S LOVE FOR VERSACE!!!

At tonight's Oscar awards, most actresses chose white as their color of choice. Cameron Diaz in Gucci Premiere, Mila Jovovich in Elie Saab Couture, Rooney Mara in Givenchy, and Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford made big statements on the red carpet. On the other hand, ultra gorgeous Angelina Jolie opted for a black velvet custom made Atelier Versace number. The actress knows that she can always count on Versace to make her look stunning and beautiful. The dress itself is a work of art. The strapless ensemble with a high slit detail gave her the modern vixen at the Oscar's awards. Only Angelina can pull off a black gown in an effortless manner. Her hair and make-up looked so natural. The red lipstick gave her uber sex appeal. She accessorized her look by wearing diamond earrings. The black peep toe shoes complimented her look. As soon as she went on stage, the audience were in awe with her striking presence. Indeed, she knows the DNA of her personal style. For her, less is more. I would like to congratulate Lucio di Rosa of Versace for doing a great job. It is a grand slam for the house of Versace for all the major awards season... courtesy of Angelina Jolie. Simply Divine! Simply Stunning! What can I say? I am speechless.

VERSACE'S ARMY OF VIXENS!!!

When the first look came out, spectators assumed that the collection was inspired by Rooney Mara's movie. The bangs misled the audience. It may came across Donatella's mind to reference her collection with the talented actress' look, but it was a tinge of it. For this season, she was thinking of a stronger and powerful woman from the past. Joan of Arc is one of the fearless woman of all times. She used the details of armor, breast plates, chain mails to add strength to the clothes. The use of the Byzantine Cross is a sign of power of world domination. This magnificent crucifix can be seen throughout the show in coats, dresses, and tops. She went back to the archives of Gianni Versace in 1997. She combined Gianni's collection from the ready-to-wear and couture. She re interpreted the collection and made it modern. Aside from black, she used bright colors in yellow and orange. A Versace show won't be complete without show stopping gowns. What caught my fancy? A chain mail gown that looks easy to move in. I wasn't a big fan of the Versace spelling dress. It could have been edited out from the collection. The legion of Donatella's army came out in full force. It brought out the inner vixen of the designer.

RAF SIMONS' FINAL BOW FOR JIL SANDER!!!

After 7 glorious years of Raf Simons at Jil Sander, the designer is leaving his post as creative director. The once troubled company of Jil Sander was saved by Raf. His knack for art and architecture brought buyers back to the label. He made the label modern and took it to another level. With his exit, Jil Sander will once again take charge of her own label. Yes, she will be back and sit on her throne. Raf brought life back to the German label. His collection inspire people to wear Jil Sander. He knows how to re interpret art and translate into clothes without being too literal. As a man, I have been a huge admirer on what he did for menswear. His choice of colors are beyond. One of my favorite collections is from his men's Spring 2011. I collected all the floral print shirts... timeless. There are speculations that Raf will move to YSL or Dior. If the rumors are true, I know he will revamp the house and make it glorious. He will be surely missed. Now, it is time to hoard the collection of Raf Simons for Jil Sander. I know he will be back. Great job Raf.

PSYCHEDELIC PRINTS AT PRADA!!!

Only Miuccia Prada can set the tone for Milan Fashion week and the rest of the world. This season, she spoke about the inspiration of the beauty of fashion. She knows how to set the trend and let the world love her passion for design. I was mainly intrigued with the use of prints. She opted for psychedelic prints that looked modern pajama dressing. It can also be seen in bags in top handle form. She brought smile to the audience who had the chance to see her show. She is a strong force in the fashion industry. It is no doubt that Vogue's Anna Wintour loves her. She is a genius and innovator. I won't be shocked if designers will be inspired with this collection come by Fall.

THE PRORSUM ADDICTION!!!

For Spring 2012, Christopher Bailey delivered a strong collection for the men's line of Burberry Prorsum. He made arts and craft modern and fun to wear. The accessories are to die for. The woven shoes with cork wedges are scene stealers. With a price tag of $850, it is worth buying these runway shoes. It comes in different 3 colorways: turquoise and black, yellow and caramel, orange and caramel. If you are into shoes, these pieces can bring joy to your closet. Luckily, I had the chance to snag 2 pairs. I am just waiting for the yellow combination to come in. It is so difficult to find statement shoes for men. I am glad Christopher had the answer for Spring. The addiction to Prorsum will have no end. A brilliant designer who caters to men's materialistic need. He brings color and life to the men's industry.

IT'S ALL ABOUT ROONEY MARA!!!

I have been dying to see the movie of Rooney Mara, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". She and Daniel Craig delivered a phenomenal performance. Elizabeth played by Rooney Mara portrays an awkward, weird, and brilliant research investigator. On the other hand, Daniel Craig plays a controversial journalist. Together, they were tasked to solve a murder mystery. Rooney's character is interesting and intriguing. Daniel's strong sex appeal and amazing body made the audience jaws drop. The movie is 2:30 long. It felt like time went by so quickly. For me, this is one of my favorite movies. Now I know why people go gaga over Rooney Mara. She is an actress with a lot of talent to offer. I highly recommend this movie. It is worth the $14.00 you need to spend on a mind boggling suspense thriller. When I left the movie theatre, I couldn't stop talking about it. This year, it's all about Rooney Mara. Bravo!!!

FRANCISCO COSTA'S STRONG IMPACT FOR CALVIN KLEIN!!!

Francisco Costa is on the right track for the house of Calvin Klein. He modernized the brand and took it to a higher level. He presented one of the strongest collections for Fall 2012. His women are strong with a dark past. With Rooney Mara on the front row, I am not surprised that one of his inspirations came from the actress' sleek look. The designer focused on the waist, cinching coats and dresses on wools and leathers with metal banded belts. His go to color ways are black and white. To add more life, he chose vibrant red to make the collection more cohesive. His evening pieces were modern chain mail armor. Indeed, Francisco made a strong impact for the house. Aside from Narciso Rodriguez, Marc Jacobs, and Michael Kors, he is one of my favorite designer. From season to season, he makes the Calvin Klein woman special.

NARCISO'S TRIUMPHANT MOMENT!!!

I was really sick last night, but I had to drink a lot of Propel-Zero to catch the Narciso Rodriguez show. It was a long wait because most of the seats were not being filled. Blame it on Valentine's Date night for skipping the show. For those people who failed to attend, they missed a fantastic and fabulous show. The designer never fails to deliver. He knows his woman. Yes, he is known for simple and clean lines. This season, he showed to the world that he can morph his designs into modern techniques. The moment the first look came out, I know I will be expecting more interesting ensembles from the designer. I haven't seen the color chartreuse in the runway in the longest time. He showcased coats in various silhouettes: bell-like volume, A-line tent shape from the shoulder, and blossoming out of the waist. To my surprise, he sent out some models wearing autumn shades in beaver fur... very clever. Seeing shades of rust, red, tangerine, chartreuse, chocolate, and red on the runway made my fever go down. It was unexpected for the designer to show that much rich colors for Fall. For the most part, the folded detail on the dresses, tops, and pants can be seen in all of the looks. The thick blade like and badge prints in the last section of the collection show his playful side as a designer. It is also the season of re launching his accessories line. Structured bags, wrist clutches, pumps, and bags were all in subtle version of color blocking. For me, Narciso produced a stellar collection. I am glad I went to the show. It was WORTH the wait.
