The return of Atelier Versace to the couture schedule is a good sign. I love Donatella's work. It is sexy and bold. Stylists will go crazy grabbing these designer options. There are so many celebrities to dress with few amazing designers. A Listers can demand custom made, but others cannot. They just have to loose the weight to squeeze into these tight dresses. After winning best original song at the recent Golden Globes award, Madonna's movie W.E. received so much buzz. Some people were questioning if she deserved the award. If you ask me, she deserves ever aspect of it. Last night at the Ziegfeld theater in New York, she attended the premiere of her movie. Madonna wore Marchesa. In my opinion, she looked good. I love the hair and make-up. Madonna is Madonna. She looks so CHIC. She can do NO wrong.

In the recent Fall 2012 men's collection, designers from Italy to Paris emphasized on the return of the suit. Every year, the suit has been a part of every collection in menswear. For this season, designers put a spin on it by making ir modern and young. Most of the suits I've seen on the runway focus on tailoring. Yves Saint Laurent's Stefano Pilati showed a suit with leather lapel. Prada showed featured 4 button suit in vertical pinstripes of blue and red. My favorite is Bottega Veneta's version of making the jacket into a fun patchwork number. Raf Simon's version of a double breasted suit for Jil Sander makes you slim and taller. Burberry Prorsum's suit goes with a chic bomber jacket. I always love a guy wearing a sharp suit. These designers offer a selection to choose from. If you have the money, I'd go for the Bottega Veneta... that's just me.

I won't be surprised if these boots will cost more than $2,000.00. Lanvin presented its Fall 2012 collection in the city of lights. Alber Elbaz's answer to chic snow boots were featured during the show. There is no excuse to look chic on a wintery day. Priya will be in-charge of the men's and women's shoes and accessories line in Canada, North and South America. In addition to her responsibilities, she will be overseeing celebrity dressing. I've known Priya since her Alessandro Dell'Acqua days. She exudes so much charm. She is a smart woman and will take the company to another LEVEL. I am so happy that she back in the game. After last year's successful Atelier Versace Emerald dress, copycats appeared on the red carpet this season. Trying to beat Angie's style, she made sure she will once again command the red carpet. Burberry Prorsum is one of my favorite men's wear designer. Christopher Bailey is doing an amazing job for the fashion house. For Fall 2012, he designed a tailored collection. It is an homage to Burberry's heritage. He added some colorful detail to the classic coat. For the neutral coat, he added bold stripes in mustard and caramel as the main detail at the hemline. On the other hand, the dark gray coat epitomizes the color ways of Harry Potter's days in the school of magic. It is bitter cold in New York, I can't wait to get my hands on the Prorsum trench. It is simply magnificent and divine. Bravo.

When you see Diane Kruger on the red carpet, she often wears ensembles from Chanel and Jason WU. At the recent Critics Choice Movie Awards, Diane glided on the red carpet wearing a custom made Prada Spring 2012. The halter dress with plisse pleats gave the actress the modern goddess look. I am not a fan of halter necklines, but this is an exception to my rule. She accented her dress with a satin fuschia clutch. Hair and make-up completed the whole look. I can tell she is loving the dress. It is easy for her to move in this dress. I am sure her team is very happy for this choice. Amazing ensemble. Indeed, it is Diane's shining moment.

I had a great and relaxing vacation in Manila, Philippines. I spent most of my time with family and friends. The highlight of my trip was my sister's wedding. It was fun helping her out plan the whole thing. As soon as I arrive in New York, I have to start working. Play time for me is over. I have to get back to the real world. Time flies so fast. I can't complain. I was gone for more than a month. It was worth it.

Continuing my Palawan trip, my sister made reservations to have breakfast in a deserted island. We took a 20 minute boat ride from Club Paradise en route to our destination. I felt like I was in the scene of the movie, "Pirates of the Carribean". For me, I had a great and relaxing time. I want to go back this year. I love the beach.

A complete relaxation means going to the beach and do nothing. If you want to party, Boracay is the island to be in. If you want to experience leisure, Palawan is the place. I wanted to go somewhere peaceful. My sister, April Pascual-Werner, suggested to go to Palawan. April and her husband went to the island last February. I was so excited to leave Manila for some relaxation. I am glad we took the trip. We stayed at the Club Paradise resort. The island was bought by Germans and converted into a getaway. As soon as we landed at the Francisco Reyes Airport, we rode the shuttle en route to the dock. After 20 minutes, we reached the dock. From there, we took a 45 minute boat ride. The scenery is spectacular. I've never seen beautiful mangrove trees in my life. It had the feeling of the Amazon River. My family and I were having so much fun. The minute we reached the island, I couldn't believe that I am in paradise. The water is crystal clear. The sands are powder white. We were welcomed by the staff of the resort. They greeted us with a 3 piece orchestra, a cold towel, and the island ice tea. For me, this was the best vacation ever. It was a stress free environment. I am fully recharged to go back to New York.

My sister, April Pascual-Werner, is always in-charge of planning the family trip. Last year, I went to Cambodia and Australia without them. I wanted to explore the beautiful islands of the Philippines. April came up with the suggestion to go to Palawan. I've never been there. I am dying to see what Coron is all about. Daniel and April went to Coron a couple of months of ago. Aside from the beautiful city of Manila, the Philippines is known for its powder white sand beaches. I can't wait to relax and enjoy the clear waters and the sun.

After having lunch with my very good friend Robbie Antonio at his fabulous office in Pacific Star, I received a black berry message from a friend saying that Michael Kors is in Manila. I didn't believe him till he sent me the image below. According to my source, no one knew it was the infamous New York designer and Project Runway judge. He had to introduce himself to the staff at his boutique in Greenbelt 5. The sales associate were in shock and had the opportunity to take their pictures with Michael. The designer is on vacation with his partner. I know where they are going , but I can't say. Who knows? His next inspiration for Spring 2013 will be the Philippines.

Burberry is one of the most profitable fashion houses in the world. Every quarter, sales go up and up. For Spring 2012, Christopher Bailey designed a collection with an homage to arts and craft and a nod to Africa. I am just a shoe addict. I am dying to get my hands on these shoes for Spring. I know Winter hasn't arrive, but I can't wait for Spring. Instead of using thick rubber soles, he opted for cork platforms. Each pair has a woven detail into it. It comes in three color ways: turquoise and black, yellow and camel, orange and army green. I have this habit of buying the same style in different colors. Lately, I haven't been digging the collection of Dries Van Noten. My fascination with Burberry is part of my must-have accessories for Spring.

Every time I come home to Manila, I try not to shop. I always make a pit stop at my friend's store, Homme et Femme in Shangri-la Mall in EDSA. Jappy has a new store called UNIVERS located in One Rockwell Plaza. His new boutique carries the following designers: Jil Sander, Rick Owens, YSL, Pierre Hardy, Y-3, Comme Des Garcons and more. One of my favorite designers in the fashion industry is Jil Sander by Raf Simons. I went with my friend, Ginger Ignacio Mirasol, to UNIVERS. She is one of the most talented jewelry designers in Los Angeles. And behold, I saw the floral shirts on sale from Jil Sander's Spring 2011. These shirts were the hottest pieces from Spring. I don't mind buying pieces from past seasons. I told myself, "I knew it. I can't escape Jappy's store." He has an eye for beautiful things. I am happy that I came.

For Daniel and April's wedding, they hired florist extraordinaire Teddy Manuel. The inspiration for the setting is vintage. Teddy combined roses, lavender, peonies, carnation, and lilacs for the arrangements. Shades of pinks and lilac adorned the whole room of Blue Leaf. He added some chandeliers, lamps, and vintage chest to complete the look. April's bouquet was fully decorated with white orchids and peonies. My good friend, Sonja Ocampo, did an amazing job with the 4 tiered cake. The design reminded me of a huge Camelia flower from Chanel. Vanilla was the flavor of the cake. Before my sister's big day, my mom and I had to go to a wedding. She couldn't back out of it because she made a promise months ago. I admire my mother for keeping her word and fulfilling her duties as a god mother. Being a god mother entails so much responsibilities by being there for the couple in times of laughter and sorrow. The theme was turquoise and gray. My mom was so disappointed with her dress. She did not have time to have her dress made. We had an idea. She told me that she has this magnificent Rajo Laurel dress from 15 years ago. It is in perfect condition. I said, "If you can squeeze into the dress, go ahead and wear it." Well! She still fits her size 6 long dress. With all modesty, my mother looked magnificent. The antique lace with beaded Swarovski crystals added chicness to her simple silhouette. I am glad she kept this dress... Classic Rajo. It really pays off when you go to the gym. Trust me, my mother pushes me to work out every time I am here.

This past Sunday, my sister April married her German fiance Daniel Werner. She gave me the task of looking for her wedding dress. She wanted simple, chic, and elegant. She never dreamt of being a princess bride. She was getting worried because I was brushing her off with the wedding gown. After weeks of soul searching, I found the perfect dress. I saw this magnificent piece from Reem Acra. The name of the dress is Narcissus. The dress is made out of silk organza. She was so happy when I sent her the image of the dress. The magnificent beadwork and insert applique gave the reincarnation of modern vintage. Overall, the ensemble gave an understated drama to the wedding. The dress didn't overpower the bride. I was so happy we made the right decision. Celebrity clients include: Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Halle Berry, Taylor Swift, Kristin Stewart, Olivia Wilde, Selena Gomez, Emma Roberts and more.

Pierre Hardy is one of my favorite shoe designers in the fashion industry. Men and women who adore shoes understand his design aesthetics. I have been a huge follower of Mr. Hardy's work. Aside from Lanvin, Dries Van Noten, Balenciaga, and Prada, I feel so chic when I wear his creations. With all modesty, I have more than 2 dozen pairs of shoes from his line. For Spring 2012, he designed a pair of sneakers that are fun and fashion forward. The "POW" sneakers is an inspiration from Roy Lichtenstein's artwork. I know winter hasn't begun, but I am dreaming of my purchases for next year. These shoes will be in my closet soon. Just wait and see. I will be wearing them on the streets of New York. All I can say, " Go POWer Sneakers".

One of the hottest prints of the season is Givenchy's Fall 2011 black panther with mixed floral details. Celebrities and socialites went crazy over this collection. Dr. Lisa Airan recently wore the printed ensemble at Annie Leibovitz's "Pilgrimage" opening reception at the Pace Gallery in New York City. She made a great option by choosing the bright yellow instead of the common black. I love it how she pulled her hair back. She accessorized her look by wearing dainty earrings, a watch, and black pumps. Amongst all the women who wore this print, she remains supreme by putting this whole look together. Simply effortless...divine. The end result, she landed in Vogue.com as one of the top 10 best dressed of the week. She knows the DNA of how to rock an ensemble from a runway. I wonder what she'd be wearing for the MET GALA next year. We will wait and see.

Yesterday, I had to do some last minute errands with my mother and sister. My sister is getting married in a few days to her German fiance. After lunch, we went to Shangri La Mall in EDSA. I was controlling myself not to go to Homme et Femme. Every time I make a pit stop at Jappy Gonzales' store, I see something I like. His store carries the best collections of Lanvin, Dries Van Noten, Comme des Garcons, Dior Homme, and Jil Sander for men. I always go to Pilar for assistance. I told her to hold 2 pairs of shoes from Dries Van Noten and Lanvin. I don't like to be in a rush. I will come back to pick them up next week. My addiction does not stop. I wish there was a pill for it.

As soon as a Celine clutch hits the floor, she sends me an image for my approval. These clutches are hard to get. Charlize Theron may have an Oscar award, but she hasn't done good movies lately. I cannot wait to see her portrayal as the evil queen in "Snow White and the Huntsman" this coming Spring 2012. She is the best fit for the role. Her beauty, height, and charm is an added value to the character. Unlike Julia Robert's movie "Mirror Mirror", Charlize is the queen of all evil queens. I have seen the official trailer on You Tube. She bathes in milk. She absorbs the spirit of the youth. What more can you ask? I believe this is her come back role after her under rated, non box office movies. It's time to remove the curse of Oscar winning actresses of not having a come back movie. All I can say, "Mirror mirror on the wall. Who is the fairest of them all?" It's up to you to judge. Wait till the summer approaches in 2012. Right now, we need to feel the cold.

This past Tuesday, Anna Wintour together with Chanel hosted a party in honor of famed director Pedro Aldomovar. Her arm candy for the evening is Karl Lagerfeld. Aside from Prada and Marni, Anna favors Chanel. She wore the latest ensemble from Chanel's Fall Haute Couture Collection. Anna has the habit of repeating her wardrobe. Last July, she was honored by the French government by giving her the highest award... the legion of honor. She wore the outfit fresh off the runway. There is no crime in repeating an outfit. She is also telling the world that there is nothing wrong to do a repeat performance. At the end of the day, Anna was wearing couture. She has a great body for her age.

The designer had to tweak the wardrobe. Instead of a V-neck line, Consuelo changed it to a round neck. Only Anna can command and dictate designers to create custom made ensembles for her. Most editors-in-chief are jealous of Anna's power. If there is an order in Anna's church, she is the Messiah of the fashion world. She remains the queen bee of the industry. No one can beat Anna. After having brunch with Claudia and Zander, I decided to see the movie "Immortals". Ever since I was a little boy, I've been fascinated by Greek Mythology. Henry Cavill plays Theseus. A mortal trained by Zeus. He defends Greece against an evil king. King Hyperion played by Mickey Rourke seeks the bow to release the titans. I don't want to give the whole story. You have to watch it. Henry Cavill exudes charm. The body is just to die for. I enjoyed watching it. It gave more inspiration. See it for yourself.

Last Wednesday, I had a chance to see my very good friend Anne V at the Victoria Secret after-party. The celebration was held at the Dream Hotel. I haven't seen her in the longest time. She splits her time in New York and Los Angeles. As soon as I saw her, we gave each other a long hug. I missed her so much. We've known each other for so many years. I am glad I had the chance to chat with her for little bit. All I can say, Anne has the moves like Jagger. Get the hint. Even though we don't see each other, I know our friendship keeps on getting stronger. Love you babe.

Donatella Versace knows how to throw a party. It was the global launch of the collaboration of H&M with the house of Versace. Prince and Nicki Minaj performed at the after-party. Jessica Alba, Kesha, Uma Thurman, Chase Crawford, Blake Lively, Emma Roberts, Tinsley Mortimer were some of the celebrities present. They transformed the hall on hudson into the world of Donatella. The fashion show was amazing with all the greatest hits of the Versace. I stayed the whole night to party. It was worth it.

Last night, Gucci was the proud sponsor of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Gala. Celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Amy Adams, Kate Beckinsale, Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, Drew Barrymore, Uma Thurman were some of the big A listers who graced the event. There were 3 women who caught my attention with regards to their fashion ensembles: Camilla Belle, Evan Rachel Woods, and Zoe Zaldana. They all wore different variations of Gucci's Spring 2012 flapper dresses. As mentioned in one of my posts, it is one of my favorite and the strongest collections in Italy. The art deco inspiration with a reference to the architecture of the Chrysler building became a sure hit. I am glad these ladies chose to wear these gorgeous dresses last night. Bravo.

As usual, Howard from Barneys New York loves to sell me statement shoes. The last purchase I made were these amazing Burberry Prorsum combat boots. I had to charge it with my secret credit card. Howard showed me these amazing boots from Alexander McQueen. I told him that I am done buying shoes for Fall/Winter 2011. He knows my taste. The boots are hot. I love the brush gold detail from the front and the back. I don't know if the shoes are comfortable. It is very tempting to buy, but I will save my money for something else. My addiction to shoes does not stop.

It's been 2 years since I have been dating mystery man. Our relationship is quite complicated. Why? I don't see him a lot. He travels so much and loves to explore the unknown. I believe he was a gypsy in his past life. Finally, it took a lot of convincing for him to come to my sister's wedding. He keeps coming back to New York for his fitting at TF. Aside from Paul Smith, he loves TF's designs. He asked me if I already got my tuxedo. I told him I bought it from Jil Sander. He was laughing because I was impatient. At the Tom Ford boutique, he told me he could have bought my tuxedo. Well! I did not know. Alas! The baron will come to Manila to attend my sister's wedding. It is a big step for him. I am very proud of his efforts. It is tough, but he has to face the music. I am glad he is a part of my life. I told him that I'd wear Tom Ford for our wedding. Indeed, it is an awakening.

Last Thursday, I visited my aunt who lives in Alpine New Jersey. She needed my help to sort some of her clothes for her trip to Asia. I've never been to her house, but some people say it is to die for. Her driver picked me up from my apartment. To my surprise, her house is the most beautiful and modern structure I've ever seen. I said to myself, "My aunt has impeccable taste". The design of her house was inspired from the Japanese Zen architecture. She has her own golf course and tennis court. Whenever you want to watch movies, she has a theater. Other amenities include: basket ball court, gym, sauna, massage room, yoga room and more. After lunch, I had to help her pack her clothes for her trip. She amazes me with her fashion sense. She loves Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens, Vintage Helmut Lang, Martin Margiela, Commes des Garcons, Yohji Yammamoto, TAO, Undercover, and Junya Watanabe. I was very impressed. I had a great time with her. I must say I had a day off for myself. Indeed, it was relaxing and therapeutic.

Whenever I pick-up samples from my client's apartment, I am always greeted with a smile by Carmen. She works for Yaz Hernandez. She makes sure that the apartment is always in proper condition. Even though she doesn't speak english that much, we completely understand each other. She tries to teach me Spanish. In return, I teach her English. I love seeing Yaz, but my day is complete by getting a hug from Carmen. All of my clients are like family to me. It includes all of the people who works for them. This past weekend, I went to New Orleans to attend Claudia and Zan's wedding party. I was so excited because it's my first time to visit. The city is full of energy and rich in culture. I fell in love with the French Quarter. I felt like I was in Europe. It is like going into a labyrinth. Once you enter, it is hard to get out. The first night of the festivities was at Cafe Amelie. The restaurant is so beautiful. I can relate with the architecture because it has the European influence... like most ancestral homes in the Philippines. Lit torches surround the entire garden. A live band was serenading the guest. Overflowing drinks were served. We had fun. The dancing party was the highlight of the event. It was just the beginning.

I just got back from a wedding in New Orleans. I almost missed my flight en route to New York. We all had fun and we danced the night away... overflowing champagne. Congratulations to Claudia and Zan.

This past weekend was the end of my addiction to cigarettes. Saturday was the last day of my smoking habits. I had my last stick and I enjoyed every puff. I felt like I was going to be sent to the guillotine and die. It was the best decision I ever made in my life. I always associate stress with smoking. It was my excuse to continue my lust for nicotine. It is my 4th day for not having the inevitable tobacco. I am struggling like an addict, but I know I can do it. Now, I can breathe properly and inhale the fresh air. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I won't go back to smoking. I am going to live one day at time. I won't be a preacher and say smoking is disgusting... I was a smoker. I just made a choice of quitting. I don't want to spend any more money on cigarettes. I'd rather buy shoes. Hahaha.

It has been rumored that Marc Jacobs is the top contender for the house of Dior. If this happens, it is the smartest move of the fashion to hire another talented designer. He has a legion of loyal followers around the world. His strong presence can turn a house from death to reincarnation. For Louis Vuitton, he showed how feminine clothes should be done. At the center of the circular runway stands an all white carousel. Models were seated on each horse as they wait for their cue. People in fashion believe that being vulnerable, nice, and sweet are the results of being weak. In this case, he proved to the world that it ain't bad to sweet. Each ensemble displayed magnificent craftsmanship of embroidery, sheer double layered fabrics, and appliques. Shades of sorbet were his main color theme for this collection. As each model walks down the runway, you just want grab these clothes and wear them. Lush alligator jackets in pale yellow, light blue, and beige depicts the epitome of luxury. My favorite part of the show are these daisy appliqued details on skirts and dresses. Feathers were in the air in some garments that added lightness to it. A special appearance of Kate Moss sealed the show with its grand climax. Indeed, it is a signal that Marc Jacobs can design for any fashion house with his creative mind. He can adapt to any environment and make it work. Whether the rumors are true or not, he is the best bet to ascend the throne and continue his reign at Dior.

The Whitney Museum Gala was a success. It was held at New York's Pier 57. The event was sponsored by Marchesa. The Fall season is the start of numerous galas and charity events. Your dress is your calling card. Everything has to be clean and close to perfection. Yaz Hernandez showed last Wednesday that simplicity is the essence of sophistication. She wore a gunmetal long sleeve gown from Christian Cota...the effect of dripping metal. She accessorized her look with blue sapphire and white diamond disc earrings from Kwiat. The pale blue moonstone and sapphire multi ribbon ring is from Fragments. Her oxidized woven metal clutch is from Celestina. The peep toe shoes are from Rene Cavoilla. Being stylish does not mean wearing the hottest label in town. Putting things together in an effortless manner may seem to be easy, but it is NOT. Yaz knows the secret formula... less is more.

Last night, Tinsley wore an amazing dress from Versace's Fall 2011 collection at the Whitney Museum party on Pier 57 in New York. You can count on Lucio Di Rosa of Versace to track this dress down and ship it to New York. I consider him as one of my dearest friends. He is always there for me. My client felt so sexy, strong, and powerful. The dress has a flirtatious and sexy vibe to it. She is one of my favorite clients to dress. Why? She is so easy and she trusts my taste. Another feathered moment for the blonde lady of New York. I believe she rocked the red carpet. Bravo!!!

Cristobal Balenciaga's influence in haute couture has been seen on the catwalks of Paris. He is a master and a true genius. Nicholas Ghesquiere kept the house alive and modern. This season, he went back to the archives and whipped up something good for Spring 2012. He used the silhouettes of Cristobal and interpreted into the modern world. Aside from Dries Van Noten's collection, Balenciaga is at the top of my list. With Nicholas' fascination to science fiction and the influence of Darth Vader and his clones of storm troopers, he managed to bring the house by delivering an edgy collection. He has been redefining urban women from season to season. His women are fierce and warrior like.

I love the contrast of the jacket with the high waisted shorts. It blends well with the masculine and feminine effect.

He is known for using style lines in his collection. Most designers are inspired by his imagination. The black large brim hats reminded me of Darth Vader's helmet. The hat was derived from the 1950s bride Cristobal designed. The heels of the shoes were sculptural. Imagine putting a door stopper behind your shoes... that's Nicholas' version of modern heels. His use of prints were tasteful. At the last section of the show, he combined prints and made them into a dress.

The patchwork pocket on the right hand of the pants was eye catching. Utilitarianism is the soul of his career for the house of Balenciaga.

From season to season, you don't know what to expect in Nicholas' mind. This collection made me smile. I am glad that he is one of the greatest designers of our times. Balenciaga still remains SUPREME!!!

DRIES' VISION OF A WOMAN!!!

Dries Van Noten is one my favorite designers in the fashion industry. I have been a loyal follower of his collection for 12 years. The men's department at Barneys New York knows about my fascination with the designer. I always get a call from them as soon as the merchandise hits the floor. For Spring 2012, Dries delivered a sophisticated and chic collection. He is known for having the best prints on garments. There are so many options for his loyal followers and soon to be fans of the brand. He used silk screen photographs of the rain forest, the sea, flowers, and the city at night. I believe it was clever. He gave Milan the answer on how to do prints properly. The silhouettes of his garments remind me of Cristobal Balenciaga in the 50s. There were a lot of easy pieces to wear. For example, a magenta jacket paired with black trousers and a white top... genius. My favorite piece is a dress in bright floral prints... show stopper.

For me, this collection signals more sales for him. He is one of the few designers in the industry who owns his company. He is a designer who does not believe in advertising. He strongly believes that a woman should have her own identity and not to follow what fashion dictates. She is a woman who goes with the flow. On top of that, the shoes are divine.

Another stunning show from the designer who knows how to do it all. Bravo!!!

I was introduced to this young lady last year by Yaz. She is so talented. It was an honor to be a part of a magnificent event. I met Fabiola's lovely family and boyfriend. They all came in full force. She received an award from the magazine for upcoming new designer. I am very proud of her. She will make wonders in the fashion industry. If it weren't for Yaz, our paths wouldn't cross.

For Spring 2012, Donatella Versace delivered an amazing collection for the house. The clothes that appeared on the runway signal sales for the brand. Versace is known for being sexy. This season, she took it a notch down. It was a smart move for Donatella to do this. Not only will she satisfy her loyal customers, she will also gain new clients for the house. The first section of the collection were done in white. Clothes were adorned with gold studs and bead work to vamp up the look. She was inspired by the elements of the sea. She used seashells, clams, and star fish as her main print. The prints were done in pastel colors. Then, the clothes morphed into light colors in shades of yellow, green, and blue. The last section displayed gowns that are red carpet worthy. What caught my attention was a white long dress with a beaded star fish. The star fish connected the bandeau and the high waisted long skirt to make it a show stopper ensemble. I don't know if the word sophistication best describes this collection. In Donatella's world, this is how the Versace woman should dress up. Another triumph to the team of Donatella for executing a marvelous collection of the new Versace glamazons.

FAST AND FURIOUS- THE PRADA WAY!!!

Last Spring 2011, Prada delivered a superb and phenomenal collection for Men and Women. She started the whole trend of the must-have accessory, the multi-colored brogue shoes. I had to reach out to all my friends in retail to hunt down those shoes. For Spring 2012, Prada showcased a satisfying collection. It may not be the same success from last Spring, but Prada knows how to push the envelope. Indeed, she is a trend setter and a designer highly copied by her competitors. The vibe of the collection reminds me between the era of the 40s and the 50s. The coat from the first look reminded me of a floral crochet table cloth. You can see this detail throughout the collection. Another inspiration from this collection is her love of cars. She used flames as prints on the hem of the skirt. The bags had appliqued vintage Cadillac or Rolls Royce. The shoes had leather flames extended out to the back sole. The set had cartoonish cars that editors and buyers can sit on. Only in the mind of Prada she can come up with ideas like this. I need to absorb and see this collection once again. Right now, I can say this was not her best. Who knows my mind may change? I guess I was expecting more from her.

Frida Giannini took the house of Gucci into a different course. After inheriting the design reigns from her mentor Tom Ford, it was a big challenge for her to take the label into the next level. Season after season, she proved to the whole world that she's the perfect choice. What a way to start Milan fashion week, she delivered a fantastic and phenomenal collection. Her inspiration was the glamour era of the 1920s and the architectural splendor of the Chrysler's building. The color blocking of gold, black, and white were dominant throughout the entire collection. Buyers, editors, and consumers will be happy when these clothes reaches the stores come Spring. On top of that, the house will have its own museum in Milan. It is a double celebration for the house. I know for sure that Frida will last for a long time. Gold medal for the house. Bravo.

After a successful Spring 2011 collection, Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein threw a dinner party at the newly renovated restaurant of ABC Kitchen. Guests include Ashley Greene, Naomi Watts, and Uma Thurman wore his creations. Two of my girlfriends, Anne V and Hanneli, did not disappoint the guests. Anne wore a blue sheath dress. On the other hand, Hanneli opted for a bright yellow dress that matches the color of the New York City cabs. After Isabella Blow's tragic death, people thought they lost an iconic beauty. The next in line to the throne is Daphne Guinness. She is a walking piece of art. Not only that, Daphne has a beautiful face. She is no freak. Her sense of fashion matches with her physical beauty. How you can you beat that? Her look has been an inspiration to many designers. Unlike celebrities and socialites, Daphne does not loan clothes... she buys. A collector of couture, she is a creative force in her own right. The exhibition at the Museum of FIT begins with an introductory gallery of all of her out of this world, sculptural, and towering shoes. As you enter the main gallery, the exhibit is divided into 6 sections: Dandyism, Armor, Chic, Evening Chic, Exoticism, and Sparkle. These are my favorite quotes from Daphne's witty statements.

Dandyism: "There is so much cross-dressing in Shakespeare. I am inspired by that."

Armor: "I think it's very beautiful to be able to cover yourself in metal."

NARCISO RODRIGUEZ LEADS THE PACK!!!

I have been a big fan of Narciso Rodriguez's work. He knows how to design for a woman's body. Simplicity is his mantra. For this season, he shocked his admirers... in a good way. It is the first I have seen Narciso delivered a collection so powerful and moving. The collection is inspired from Korean artist, Kim Joon. The first look is his signature black and white. As the show progressed, the clothes were morphing into layers and layers of luxurious fabrics. He used so many colors this season and gave me a smile to the stratosphere. If I were to choose my favorite look, I'd say I want them all. You can tell the designer wants to let loose and have a carefree moment. It is so nice to see a show wherein a designer shows his techniques in manipulating a garment and make it look modern. For me, this is one of the best collection I've seen during fashion week. It was worth the wait.

The 60th Miss Universe Pagaent was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 89 contestants around the world competed for the crown. Shamcey Supsup is the representative of the Philippines to the super bowl of pageants. Another tough question was thrown at her by actress Vivica Fox. It was a tricky question because it involved religion. I believe she answered the question by being honest and true to her form. The Philippines' dominant religion is Catholic. She may not achieve the crown, but 3rd runner up isn't bad. Once again, she gave honor and prestige to my country. Congratulations for making us proud. Mabuhay.

Last Wednesday, The FIT Couture Council honored legendary designer Valentino Garavani with the Artistry award. The luncheon was well attended. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour gave a smart, witty, and inspiring speech about the Italian designer. She is the only woman in the room who can command presence. On the other hand, Vice chair Yaz Hernandez wore an amazing MOD style ensemble. It was the perfect choice of wearing black and white together. Her look was clean and effortless. She wore Fall 2011 Narciso Rodriguez dress. Her shoes are by Jimmy Choo from Fall. The clutch is by Celestina. Her earrings are from MADSTONE. The black opal ring is from Carla Amorim. Her whole outfit won't be complete without her amazing hair and make-up. I am amazed with this woman's style. She know how to dress chic. Bravo.

Last Wednesday, there was a big celebration in New York City to welcome the newly weds Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. The event took place at Capitale. New York Socialite and Reality TV Star Tinsley Mortimer made an appearance with her boyfriend Brian Mazza. She wore an amazing Black strapless lace and leather dress from Parisian designer Jay Ahr. The combination of leather and lace made her look fierce and cutting edge. The braided leather detail on the waist looked like a band that singed Tinsley's waist. It accentuated her beautiful figure. She wore lucite platform strappy shoes from Fendi. The embossed leather python clutch added some texture to her ensemble. Her vintage inspired custom jewelry is from Danijo. Katy Perry had a couple of wardrobe changes during the MTV Music Awards. She strutted on the red carpet in an Asian inspired pastel colored beaded dress with a matching parasol. After that, she wore a deep purple long sleeve dress to present the next performer. Her second to the last outfit was from Christian Dior Haute Couture 2011. She was wearing a yellow cube hat. I thought it was fun and colorful. She won the best video of the year for her inspirational song, "Firework". I admire Katy and her work so much. Finally, she wore a short beaded black and gray dress accented with a telephone headpiece. Who says you can't have fun during the VMAs? She did. Congratulations.

Finally, I found the perfect wedding dress for my sister's main event on December 11. It took me 2 weeks to do research for the most sophisticated dress in the bridal arena. On my way home, I passed by the Tiffany & Co flagship store. I stopped and stared at their display windows. What did I see? jewels and ice cream. The concept behind it was brilliant. People cannot resist ice cream. The combination of ice cream and jewelry is simply irresistible. You can see the company is trying to lure consumers to buy jewelry. The different colors of the dessert can mesmerize you. I felt like I was being hypnotized. If you don't have a strong resistance, you will be tempted. Who said you cannot add humor to jewelry? Tiffany proves that sweet jewels do exist. I would like to have 2 scoops of ice cream plus a yellow canary diamond ring on top. The bill? Thousands of dollars for sweets.

This past weekend, Kim Kardashian exchanged vows with New Jersey Nets basketball player Kris Humphries. The wedding was the talk of the town. Kim wore a heart shape Vera Wang dress. Her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe, also wore the designer's creations. There were 450 guests who attended the festivities at a private estate in Montecito, California. Kim's husband wore a white tuxedo from Ermenigeldo Zegna. As usual, Kim's make-up is perfection. I am not a big fan of her Esmeralda look. She accented her hair with a diamond necklace. I don't know what she was thinking. Was she paying homage to her Armenian roots? Or was it just an over board of diamonds? I hope she does not look back and say, "What was I thinking?". This past Wednesday, I received a package from an unknown admirer. The doorman told me that a very tall and handsome man dropped off the package. Before I open presents, I always look for the card. The only word written on the card, "Enjoy". I opened my present. To my surprise, it is my favorite scent from Maison Fracnis Kurkdjian, APOM. I was so happy because I ran out of this scent. I always buy this fragrance in Paris. APOM contains Orange Blossom and Ylang Ylang ingredients to make the scent soothing to the nose. Every time I spray this perfume, I receive many compliments from my peers. On my skin, the scent morphs into fresh powder. I can't stop smelling myself. Hahaha. Up to now, it remains a mystery who gave me this amazing present. I hope the person reveals himself soon. Only few people know about my obsession with Maison Francis Kurkdjian's scents. Who can it be?

I have been an admirer of Christopher Bailey's work for Burberry. He made the British brand cool and hip. For Spring 2012, he delivered a fun and colorful collection with an homage to modern arts and craft with a touch of African heritage. With Prada's hit Spring 2011 creeper shoes, designers were inspired to create their on take on the must-have item. Instead of using jute for the soles, Burberry used cork. I love the color combinations he used: yellow/brown and black/turquoise. It reminds me of an upgraded high fashion golf shoes. My addiction to shoes does not stop. I just checked into shoe rehab... it did not work. I can't wait to get them. I simply must have it. I sound like a crazy person on shoe drugs.

Last night, my friend and I went out to have some fun. We decided to go to Industry. Industry Bar is one of the hottest gay night spots in New York City. The music is always good and fun. On top of that, the men are hot. I love hanging out with Nix. He is so energetic and fun. After a couple of drinks, we started dancing with everybody. We kept on jumping and jumping. It was good exercise on the dance floor. We got out of the club at 4 in the morning. I had a blast. I am going to miss Nix.

I went to Barneys New York yesterday to check out the latest accessories for Fall 2011. I saw this amazing clutch from Celine in burgundy and blue. I told Mimi that I will come back for it. I needed to pick-up something from the men's third floor. On my way out, I noticed the clutch was gone. I rushed to Mimi and asked her what happened to the clutch. A client snatched it. I was too late. She told me that it was the last piece in the country. She said that she will call me as soon as the next order comes in. Another clutch lost for me to carry for the Fall season. Prada delivered a strong collection for Spring 2011. The fashion house designed the must have shoes for Spring. There was a huge wait list for the Prada brogues. For Fall 2011, Prada continued its success by designing lace up shoes with colored thick soles. It is more subdued than the infamous shoes from last season. It reminds me of Jil Sander's Spring 2011 shoes, but casual and sporty. I can't wait to get my hands on these amazing and comfortable shoes. Now I can click my shoes and say, "There is no place like home". Prada style. Love it.

Summer is here in New York City. Today, the temperature will be in the 100s. I promised my client, Tiffani, that I'd accompany her to the tailor. She wore an amazing Malandrino dress to one of her guest appearances. I had to put on something cool and refreshing. I wore my favorite floral shirt from Liberty London, Camel capris from Zara, and yellow suede shoes from Tods. Since my outfit was light and colorful, I thought it would distract me from the HEAT. I was wrong. After my appointment, I dropped off my client to her apartment. I rushed back to my place and turned on the airconditioner. I will be staying in for the rest of the day. Besides, I deserve a FULL DAY OFF. I have been working non-stop.

After my long meeting yesterday, I rushed to Barneys to check out the new men's collection for Fall. I came across the new billboard of DKNY for Fall. I stopped and stared at the models. I got really excited. One of the models used for the campaign is my best friend Anne V. I immediately sent her a bbm text. She responded so fast and ask me to take a picture. Anne and I have known each other for a long time. We've been friends for 6 years. She knows how to balance her career and love life. Aside from having a successful career, she is the loving girlfriend of Maroon 5's front man Adam Levine. When Maroon 5 was in Manila for a concert, she was instrumental for my sister's last minute ticket request. Amazing.

Fashion houses like Gucci, Celine, Givenchy made a come back after hiring talented designers. It is not the case for the house of Halston. Marios Schwab, Harvey Weinstein, and Sarah Jessica Parker parted ways with the company. After trying to relaunch the brand, there was no success in keeping up the momentum. The first collection of Marios Schwab was a hit for the fashion industry. Insiders told me that the collection he designed was not picked up by the stores. For his second and succeeding collection, he looked into the archives of the house. It became a success. Sarah Jessica Parker's role is to oversee the Heritage line. With her high profile character from Sex and the City, the house took a chance in hiring her as the Chief Creative Officer. SJP was heavily involved in creating the collection. It was very difficult for her to leave the company. She loved the brand. She put her whole heart and soul to it. As for Harvey Weinstein, he invested in the company. With his connections in Hollywood, the company thought he'd be bringing more income. In this case, it did not happen. How many times does this house need an overhaul? Who is the next candidate? The next designer should stick to the DNA of the house.

I was very fortunate to own a pair of Prada's hit men's runway shoes from Spring 2011. These shoes were hard to find. I have the blue/red/caramel colored brogues. I had these shoes since February. D knows how to do his research. He got me these hard to find shoes before I left for Paris. Miuccia Prada gives inspiration to designers around the world. Meaning, everybody loves to copy her style. Shoe designer Jeffrey Campbell is one of the copy cats. Yes, he knocked-off the infamous Prada Brogues. The price may be less than the original, but it looks cheap. I'd rather pay the full price and buy my comfort and style. Jeffrey Campbell's shoes will give you foot problems in the future. It also screams poorly made in China... Bad Clone.

This past Monday, Emma Watson wore a gown from Bottega Veneta's Fall 2011 collection. She graced the red carpet at the Avery Fischer Hall in Lincoln Center. She was in New York to promote the last installment of the movie Harry Potter. The oatmeal saffron gold colored ensemble looked good on Isabeli Fontana. I don't think this outfit suits Emma Watson's youthful look. The bodice gave her form, but the drape fabric below the waist did not give her justice. I am not a huge fan of this dress on her. It felt like she came out of a package. The hair and make-up gave her a fresh look. She is now a lady, but there could have been better options for this event.

He is a huge admirer of the late Yves Saint Laurent. He continued the designer's legacy by deriving inspirations from different cultures. For this collection, he revisited his love for his pinstripe suits and trench coats. He loves bringing back supermodels like Eve. Once again, the former model's famous shaved head with the dragon tattoo complimented the white dress she was wearing on the catwalk. He may not have the set design like Chanel, but he knows how to produce a spectacular collection. During couture season, I am always excited what John Galliano will whip up for the house of Dior. Since his tragic exit this year, the house has been searching for the right successor. There were rumors going around that Ricardo Tisci will replace Galliano. The here says were false. Galliano's protege, Bill Gaytten, will fill in the void for Dior. In my belief, Galliano made Dior fashion forward. I had mixed emotions when I was looking at the collection online. There was something missing. Galliano lured us to a world of fantasy and make belief. Now, reality kicks in for all his spectators, admirers, and followers... It is difficult to accept. The heir to the throne must try his best to surpass his master's vision for the house. It will be difficult, but I know it can be done. Look what happened to Frida Giannini. She had a rocky start at Gucci. She proved to the world that Tom Ford's shadow at the house was totally gone. Things can happen when you believe.

Before my fitting with my client Tiffani, I was watching the Wimbeldon's Men's finals between Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The defending champion could not surpass the fire power of Novak. Besides losing this match, Rafa will be dethroned being world number 1. Novak took the first set 6-4. In the second set, Novak showed the Spaniard his true form. He was making Rafa running around the court. He claimed the second set 6-1. In the third set, Rafa fought back by having an early break of 3-0. As the set progressed, Rafa took the third set 1-6. Spectators were expecting a 5th set, but Novak proved to the crowd that he is the deserving champion of the match. He claimed his first Wimbeldon trophy. It will be a double celebration for the Serbs. He is now world number 1 and the reigning champion of Wimbeldon. Congratulations.
