Last night's 2012 SAG Awards was no let down. The actresses paraded in style. I wasn't a fan of Angelina Jolie's dress. She is just stunning with or without the Jenny Packham ensemble. Viola Davis looked spectacular in a white and gold detail Marchesa. Kiera Sedgwick's orange Emilio Pucci number was a cutout dress made in heaven. To be honest with you, I am a big FAN of Atelier Versace. Lea Michele wore an off the shoulder Grecian inspired dress from the label. Does it fit her? I don't know. If it were Charlize Theron or Angelina Jolie, the dress could work and made headlines. On the other hand, the dress is a departure from Lea's Halle Berry moment at the Golden Globes. I guess she is still trying to find her style identity. Definitely, the Versace number gave her a boost on the red carpet. Was it enough to make her best dressed? You decide. She has to sing and convince the audience that she deserves to be on top.

BLOCKED SHOE!!!
Finally, Pierre Hardy came out with a good print in canvas for Spring 2012. His block print will appear in his collection. The lace-up shoes is a show stopper. Known for his classic and modern design, he always adds some new pieces for the season that his followers will adore. Statement shoes for men are hard to find these days. Thank god for his creative designs, men who love fashion will have these shoes as part of their wardrobe for Spring. I rest my case.

COUTURE FRENZY!!!
For the upcoming 2012 Oscar Awards, stylists are scrambling to get the BEST of the BEST dresses for their clients to wear. These clothes will be tweaked to the celebrities liking. The return of Atelier Versace to the couture schedule is a good sign. I love Donatella's work. It is sexy and bold. Stylists will go crazy grabbing these designer options. There are so many celebrities to dress with few amazing designers. A Listers can demand custom made, but others cannot. They just have to loose the weight to squeeze into these tight dresses. And the winner is???

MADONNA'S RED CARPET MOMENT!!!
After winning best original song at the recent Golden Globes award, Madonna's movie W.E. received so much buzz. Some people were questioning if she deserved the award. If you ask me, she deserves ever aspect of it. Last night at the Ziegfeld theater in New York, she attended the premiere of her movie. Madonna wore Marchesa. In my opinion, she looked good. I love the hair and make-up. Madonna is Madonna. She looks so CHIC. She can do NO wrong.

SUIT UP!!!
In the recent Fall 2012 men's collection, designers from Italy to Paris emphasized on the return of the suit. Every year, the suit has been a part of every collection in menswear. For this season, designers put a spin on it by making ir modern and young. Most of the suits I've seen on the runway focus on tailoring. Yves Saint Laurent's Stefano Pilati showed a suit with leather lapel. Prada showed featured 4 button suit in vertical pinstripes of blue and red. My favorite is Bottega Veneta's version of making the jacket into a fun patchwork number. Raf Simon's version of a double breasted suit for Jil Sander makes you slim and taller. Burberry Prorsum's suit goes with a chic bomber jacket. I always love a guy wearing a sharp suit. These designers offer a selection to choose from. If you have the money, I'd go for the Bottega Veneta... that's just me.

LANVIN'S VERSION OF SNOW GEAR!!!
I won't be surprised if these boots will cost more than $2,000.00. Lanvin presented its Fall 2012 collection in the city of lights. Alber Elbaz's answer to chic snow boots were featured during the show. There is no excuse to look chic on a wintery day. Whether you are skiing on the slopes of St. Moritz or on the streets of New York, these boots will attract attention. It is chic and very sleek. Just have the extra cash to spend on these hot item for the coming Fall. Winter is not over and I am looking at the next season's must have accessories.

CHANGE IN POWER!!!
Recently, Christian Louboutin tapped Priya Mohindra to be the next communication director for the RED SOLE company. Definitely, there is a shift in power. She took over Shawna Rose's position. Priya will be in-charge of the men's and women's shoes and accessories line in Canada, North and South America. In addition to her responsibilities, she will be overseeing celebrity dressing. I've known Priya since her Alessandro Dell'Acqua days. She exudes so much charm. She is a smart woman and will take the company to another LEVEL. I am so happy that she back in the game. Congratulations to you my dear. You deserve only the BEST.

THE HOTTEST GOLF SHOES FOR SPRING!!!
Last Spring, Prada caused a frenzy with the Brogue leather jute soles. For Spring 2012, there is another wait list for one of the hottest item for men, Prada's Golf shoes. Barneys NY, SAKS Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, and all the Prada stores have a long wait list. As a shoe lover, I like distinct designs. I don't play golf, but this is the perfect time to own one. I can't wait to wear them for Spring.

PATCHWORK STATEMENTS!!!
Christopher Bailey of Burberry has been directing the house to a different course...it's been successful. I have been a fan of the house for a very long time. When I get disappointed with the other men's collection, I turn to Burberry Prorsum and get astounding result. His Fall 2012 collection was received well by the press and the buyers. The company's archives are rich in inspiration. As much as I love the clothes, I got so excited with the accessories. He showcased patchwork document holders and briefcase bags.
Shades of mustard, blue, burgundy, and dark purple were the dominant colors to form this impeccable line. As a treat to clients, you can order in advance at www.burberry.com. The document case is $1,495.oo and the luggage is $2,695.00. If you have money to spare, I suggest to snag one of these.
It is so divine.

GOLDEN GLOBES TOP 10 BEST DRESSED!!!
You need a good team to come up with the most impeccable, show stopper, and divine ensemble on the red carpet. Aside from the emcee's annoying delivery, the stars prove that their wardrobes are the talk of the night. These women show elegance, class, and sophistication in a different level. They worked with the best stylists in the industry. They believe that they should carry the ensemble and not the other way around. Here are some of my top picks for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards:

ANGELINA RULES THE RED CARPET
After last year's successful Atelier Versace Emerald dress, copycats appeared on the red carpet this season. Trying to beat Angie's style, she made sure she will once again command the red carpet. With Brad Pitt by her side, the flawless actress chose another impeccable dress. She wore an amazing beige white ensemble from Atelier Versace. As you all know, she loves Versace. The dress gave justice to her figure. The red neckline vamped up the dress. She pulled her hair back. Her make-up was just divine. A touch of red lipstick and she is good to go. To compliment the red satin neckline, she opted for a red satin clutch. Another triumphant moment for Lucio di Rosa and his team. She dominates the red carpet in an effortless manner. It really pays off to be naturally beautiful.
THE PRORSUM TRENCH!!!
Burberry Prorsum is one of my favorite men's wear designer. Christopher Bailey is doing an amazing job for the fashion house. For Fall 2012, he designed a tailored collection. It is an homage to Burberry's heritage. He added some colorful detail to the classic coat. For the neutral coat, he added bold stripes in mustard and caramel as the main detail at the hemline. On the other hand, the dark gray coat epitomizes the color ways of Harry Potter's days in the school of magic. It is bitter cold in New York, I can't wait to get my hands on the Prorsum trench. It is simply magnificent and divine. Bravo.

SHINING MOMENT!!!
When you see Diane Kruger on the red carpet, she often wears ensembles from Chanel and Jason WU. At the recent Critics Choice Movie Awards, Diane glided on the red carpet wearing a custom made Prada Spring 2012. The halter dress with plisse pleats gave the actress the modern goddess look. I am not a fan of halter necklines, but this is an exception to my rule. She accented her dress with a satin fuschia clutch. Hair and make-up completed the whole look. I can tell she is loving the dress. It is easy for her to move in this dress. I am sure her team is very happy for this choice. Amazing ensemble. Indeed, it is Diane's shining moment.

GISELLE STRIKES BACK!!!
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen strikes back with 3 big AD campaigns for Spring 2012. She appears on the ads of Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Givenchy. She never lost her luster. Having a child with Tom Brady doesn't stop her of becoming one of the most bankable models in the fashion industry. It proves to show that her staying power will not die. Her comeback is one of the strongest. She is an icon in her own right. I am so proud that she does not fail to deliver. She is the best EXPORT of Brazil. She is a true TITANIUM treasure of her time.

BACK TO NEW YORK!!!
I had a great and relaxing vacation in Manila, Philippines. I spent most of my time with family and friends. The highlight of my trip was my sister's wedding. It was fun helping her out plan the whole thing. As soon as I arrive in New York, I have to start working. Play time for me is over. I have to get back to the real world. Time flies so fast. I can't complain. I was gone for more than a month. It was worth it.

BREAKFAST IN A DESERTED ISLAND!!!
Continuing my Palawan trip, my sister made reservations to have breakfast in a deserted island. We took a 20 minute boat ride from Club Paradise en route to our destination. I felt like I was in the scene of the movie, "Pirates of the Carribean". For me, I had a great and relaxing time. I want to go back this year. I love the beach.

CLUB PARADISE!!!
A complete relaxation means going to the beach and do nothing. If you want to party, Boracay is the island to be in. If you want to experience leisure, Palawan is the place. I wanted to go somewhere peaceful. My sister, April Pascual-Werner, suggested to go to Palawan. April and her husband went to the island last February. I was so excited to leave Manila for some relaxation. I am glad we took the trip. We stayed at the Club Paradise resort. The island was bought by Germans and converted into a getaway. As soon as we landed at the Francisco Reyes Airport, we rode the shuttle en route to the dock. After 20 minutes, we reached the dock. From there, we took a 45 minute boat ride. The scenery is spectacular. I've never seen beautiful mangrove trees in my life. It had the feeling of the Amazon River. My family and I were having so much fun. The minute we reached the island, I couldn't believe that I am in paradise. The water is crystal clear. The sands are powder white. We were welcomed by the staff of the resort. They greeted us with a 3 piece orchestra, a cold towel, and the island ice tea. For me, this was the best vacation ever. It was a stress free environment. I am fully recharged to go back to New York.
