THE PRADA FALL 2012 AD CAMPAIGN!!!

Anne V's career is better than ever. The supermodel has been working hard to maintain her status. In addition to her many covers in various magazines, she appears in Prada's Fall Ad campaign. She is one of the guest supermodels at the recent Prada Spring 2013 men's collection. I've known Anne for 7 years. Our friendship keeps on growing. I am so proud of all her achievements. Both of us are always happy for each other. May you have more campaign ads to come. You are rocking it. Love you!!!

PRADA'S NO PRINT POLICY!!!

Miuccia Prada is one of the greatest and the most innovative designer of our times. She knows how to stir the wheel into a different direction. For Spring 2013, she presented a very strong collection for her men's line. The army of the Prada men strutted on the runway with an homage to the 70s color blocking. Prada loves prints, but this time she opted for a no print zone policy. Aside from the good color combination, she used "LINES" as the focal point of the collection. The inseam of the pants were in wide color lines contrast. She didn't stop from there. She also used it for the sandals, shoes, and bags.

If there was an academy built by Prada, this collection is the answer to the uniform her students would wear. I can only imagine the smile she gave the buyers for next season. As simple as it may seem, this signals revenue for the house. I can't to grab my hands on these amazing pieces. I thought I would save for next Spring, but Prada made me think otherwise.

IN THE MOOD FOR BRIGHTS- BURBERRY

I have been a loyal follower of Christopher Bailey's work for Burberry Prorsum. I believe he is one of the fashion innovators for mens wear. I just admire his creativity of re working the classic trench. For Spring 2013, the designer went into full thrust. Bright metallics like candy foils in different color ways: green, blue, fuchsia, yellow, blue, orange, gray and more. He worked his love for metallics in shirts and trenches and slipped them onto car coats. He sent out bubble-shaped, multi-toned bomber jackets... it reminded me of the 80s. He also used bright metallics in flashy clutches, totes, and sandals.

It wasn't all about the exuberance of the clothes, he also showed tailored suits, deep navy seersucker, and nylon Prince of Wales. If you wanted to be noticed for next spring, the answer is purchasing all the show stopper collection from Burberry. Christopher Bailey delivered a rich and a strong collection for the house. Now I can say, there will always be a rainbow connection in his mind.

NARCISO'S STRONG ANSWER FOR RESORT!!!

I have been looking at the current Resort 2013 on line. What caught my eye? Narciso Rodriguez's collection. He is a genius. He knows what women want... good clothes. If there is such a thing as good investment in clothes, Narciso's collection offers in all categories. For this season, he focused on tailoring. The clothes are tight to the body. With his fascination for linear details, he used colors in fuschia, burnt orange, black, camel, red, and white. He mixed his snakeskin print with some of his pieces. His take on the modern suit wowed me. The snake print jacket added some glamour to the sophisticated look. Last season, he launched his accessory line (shoes and bags). It keeps getting better and better. I can't wait when the collection hits stores in November. Who would have thought that strips of ribbons could morph into phenomenal collection? It gave me a big smile. This only means one thing, big bucks for the fashion house. Congratulations.

GERMANY BEATS THE NETHERLANDS- EURO CUP 2012

Yesterday, my good friend Daniella Smit planned an afternoon get together at Tonic in Time Square. She wanted her friends to support for the Dutch team to beat the Germans. The bar was packed with people wearing bright orange in honor of the Dutch flag. I am not Dutch, but I had to wear orange to show my support. As soon as the game started, everyone inside the bar kept on howling hoping to win for the Netherlands. In the first half of the game, Germany's Mario Gomez scored 2 goals for the team. All of a sudden the crowd became quiet and stared at the TV monitors. I am not a soccer expert, but the Dutch team played it safe. They didn't go for the attack to reach the goal. Every time a player tries to pass the ball near the goal, no one is there to receive it and aim for the score. In the end, my Dutch friends left the bar in despair. With this outcome, the Dutch were ousted in the 2012 Euro Cup. Speaking of fashion, people followed the dress code of wearing orange. I am so amazed they showed allegiance to their country by wearing orange. I had a great Wednesday afternoon. Thank God I decided to take the rest of the day off.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS!!!

This past Friday, I convinced my nieces to see the movie "Snow White and Huntsman". After my 330pm fitting, I rushed to the Union Sqaure Regal Cinema theater. I have been waiting for the release of Charlize Theron's comeback movie of the famed fairytale story. My expectations were so high. I was quite disappointed with the outcome of the movie. The effects and the costumes were amazing, but it didn't save the movie's outcome. All of the actors seemed like there were over acting. The emphasis on each word they delivered reminded me of a monotone speech. The acting was bad. I felt like all of them were start up actors... no offense. The movie was long and could have used some editing. On the other hand, Kristin Stewart is beautiful... that's about it. I should have trusted my instincts not to rely on previews. The movie could have been better. I sat inside the theater asking myself, "What am I doing here wasting my time?" I felt weak when I left the theater. Another bad movie for the summer. You can't win them all.
