SOM FUR!!!

New York fashion week started. It is the most highly anticipated event during winter. It is the second season held at the Lincoln Center. In any runway, FUR will not disappear. Beside exotic skins like crocodile and lizard, FUR is the most luxurious pelt used during the cold weather. SAGA Furs is the leading company in fur which produces modern techniques for designers to incorporate in their collection.

This season, New York designer Peter Som took it to a higher level. He used fur as a trim in his collection. He focused on the sleeves of the coats, which gave its modern look. The choice of color added vibrance to it.

No wonder, he is one of the favorite designers the company chooses to work with. Consumers will be waiting until it hits the floors this coming Fall/Winter season.

KAREN ELSON'S TAKE ON VERSACE!!!

Last night in New York, AMFAR held its gala at Cipriani's Wall Street. President Clinton was one of the biggest honorees for the foundation. He was introduced by his daughter Chelsea Clinton. The foundation aims to raise funds for AIDS research. Elizabeth Taylor is the head chair of this charity. The event raised $1.5 million dollars.

Talking about fashion, Karen Elson wore Spring 2011 Versace. The white gown with fringe details complimented her red hair. She is the BEST dressed attendee. I love seeing a woman wearing white during winter. The dress looked so feminine on her. Remember the January Jones red Versace dress she wore at the Globes... this is the softer version of it. The hair, make-up and accessories summed up the whole look. Simply FLAWLESS!!!

TIME FOR VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

I have been collecting watches since I was a teenager. For special occasions, my mother chooses to give me timepieces as a present. She told me that these are investment pieces. One of my favorite watch companies is Brera. Brera Orologi originated from Milan, Italy. Brera is the reflection of the city's influence in style, fashion, design, craftsmanship and attention to detail. The brand offers timepieces for men and women.

The company is never driven by trend. They offer bold and classic pieces for the wearer to keep for a long time. For Valentine's day, the Eterno collection for men ($650) and Stella collection for women ($550-$1895) are the perfect gifts to your love ones. The simplicity of the Eterno pieces gives a strong fashion statement. These are chronograph pieces at a reasonable price. On top of that, the swift strap can be interchanged. There is no need for a tool to change the color of the strap.

On the other hand, the Stella line is provocative and daring. It's rectangular face accented with or without diamonds gives its modern design. Like the Eterno collection, the straps can also be changed.

These are perfect gifts for giving each other in celebrating the day of love. Indeed, it is sharing treasured moments with one another.

PRADA'S TOTES FOR MEN!!!

This season, the men's accessories of Prada will make my bank account anorexic. All along, I thought I will be stocking Dries Van Noten, Pierre Hardy, and Lanvin in my closet. I was wrong. Prada showcased must have pieces for Spring. Miuccia Prada shifted gears and produced an amazing collection for men and women.
There are so many choices to choose from. These printed totes are statement pieces.
Prada nailed it. I can't wait.

SOLD OUT!!!

The shoes I wanted for Spring 2011 from Prada are sold out. Apparently, it is the hottest item showcased for the season. I called all the Prada stores in the USA and I had no luck. My only chance to get a hold of it is to wait for Barney's shipment to arrive. It's been years since Prada produced jaw dropping statement shoes. The color combination and the thick jute and rubber soles added spunk to it.

I am very amazed with Miuccia's designs. Indeed, she is a trendsetter. No wonder her company is so successful, she knows what men wants. There is a huge wait list for this item. I do not get stressed about work, but I am serious of getting my shoes. I guess have to wait in line.

GIVENCHY'S TAKE ON OUTERWEAR!!!

Like Balenciaga, Ricardo Tisci modernized the house of Givenchy. He chose New York's West Village area as his back drop for his pre-fall collection. Known for his gothic designs for the brand, he looked into a different realm... the world of outerwear. He does not take things literally. Ricardo puts his own spin for this season. He used different shades of brown to accent the rich colors of purple and green. Brown is the new black.

The women of Givenchy show power and strength. He may be inspired by every day dressing, but the details of the clothes depict an urban vixen girl. The marabou feathers added spice to the entire collection. On top of that, he loves to accent his pieces with fur. Imagine a woman walking on the streets of New York wearing Ricardo's collection this coming fall. All I can say, FIERCE.

SHOE STOPPER!!!

I love going to the website of Browns of London. They have well edited pieces that consumers can buy. Since I started this blog, Dries Van Noten is my choice of designer. For Spring 2011, he did a collection inspired by the artist Jackson Pollack. Splattered paint on shirts, pants, and jackets depict the late artist's inspiration. Whenever I wear his pieces, I feel that the clothes blend into my personal look. I am wearing art.

The buyers from Browns are brilliant and smart. Just like the clothes on the runway, they ordered tie dye shoes. All I have to do is save a little money to get my hands on those shoes. I can imagine myself walking on the street of New York in style. Indeed, it is a total SHOE STOPPER.
