Everyone admires the late designer Yves Saint Laurent. For Spring 2011, he became the inspiration of all designers from New York to Paris. He is a true visionnaire. He was the first designer to be inspired with different cultures around the world. Now, we have Jean Paul Gaultier carrying the torch. Stefano Pilati is doing a great job at Yves Saint Laurent. For Pre Fall 2011, he went back into the archives and found one of the BEST reference of YSL... the OPIUM Collection. He presented capes, belted coats, high waisted pleated skirts, cullotes, and furs. Stefano brings it back into the modern era.
Shades of emerald green, fuschia, and jade were the dominant colors of this collection. Stefano does not take things literal. He is a genius.
I am glad he showed so many day to evening looks for this presentation.
If Mr. Saint Laurent was still alive, he would be happy to see this collection come again to LIFE.
