CELINE'S POWER OF PERSUASION!!!

Since Phoebe Philo took over the house of Celine, I have been a huge fan of her designs. I know she designs for women, but I do my best to incorporate her accessories to my look. For Spring/Summer 2015, the jacquard print adds excitement to a simple wardrobe. Currently, the clutch is in my possession. I am in the hunt for the tote. My mood this season is to match all my accessories. Through her creations, I have no fear of swiping my credit card. $$$$.

CURRENT OBSESSION: LOEWE'S MECCANO COLLECTION BY JONATHAN ANDERSON!!!

It is a match made in heaven for Jonathan Anderson and LOEWE. The LVMH owned company has been struggling for years to find its niche in the fashion industry. The designer's debut collection for men's and women's got great reviews from the press and the retailers.

Last year was my first encounter with the brand. I had a 2 hour lay over in Hong Kong en route to Manila. I have the habit of checking the merchandise bought from each boutique. I love comparing the buy in the US and Hong Kong. The MECCANO collection is youthful and playful. It reminds me of my childhood. Because of this, you want to buy everything in the collection. I believe the brand is in good hands with Jonathan's new direction. I can't wait to see how he can stir the brand to great success.

IT DOESN'T BUG ME TO BE IN FENDI!!!

I have been busy for the past 8 months. I didn't have time to write entries for my blog. Now, I am back in the game. Fendi's "Bug Collection" for Spring 2015 caught my attention. I needed some fun and whimsical accessories in my closet. The fashion brand answered my need to have these collectible items. You can buy a backpack for $5,000 or a wallet for $400.00. These pieces add some humor to your ensemble. Fendi is brilliant for making the brand up to date. You can purchase these amazing pieces from FENDI. How I wish they produce more of these items? I am glad this collection inspired me to write. It's never a dull moment at the house of FENDI. All you need is humor, laughter, and a taste for fashion.

VERSACE REVISITED!!!

When I was a teenager, my mother didn’t know what to do with me.  Since I am the only boy in the family, she gave me everything I wanted. I admit that I was a spoiled brat growing up. People do change for the better. I am glad that I am not that boy anymore. During the late 80s and early 90s, I was obsessed with Gianni Versace. I was collecting all his pieces: Gianni Versace, Versus, Istante, Versace Jeans Couture, Versace Collection, and Versace Jeans Couture. Hong Kong was the nearest place to shop. I spent all my money buying Versace.

For Spring 2014, my obsession with Versace came back. I was impressed with the collection that Donatella designed for menswear. The use of athletic tapes in neon colors gave the Versace man the cool factor.  Since the clothes are very expensive, let’s focus on the bags. The nylon totes were just amazing. The details include the athletic tapes forming the V with the Medusa on the tip of the letter. It came in different colors: black, burgundy, and brown.

Right now, I have the bag in black. I can’t wait to get my hands on the burgundy. I guess I am still a spoiled brat at heart. The verdict, I want them all.

FURRY TALES!!!

Only a handful of designers managed to transform and make fur fun and interesting.  Marc Jacobs, Brandon Sun, Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung, J. Mendel, Dennis Basso, and Carolina Herrera took fur to the next level.  Amongst all of these designers, Joseph Altuzarra’s design caught my attention. I love all the vibrant colors he used for Fall/Winter. The strips of minks in vibrant colors remind me of an uneven windowpane pattern. If I was a woman and I had the money to purchase this coat, I will be the first one to buy it.   On the other hand,  Marc Jacobs silver fox bomber jacket depicts the different colors of the clouds when the sun is about to set. I love how he dyed the fur. These designers know how to make fur fresh and new every season.

CATE BLANCHETT'S TRIUMPHANT MOMENT AT THE 2014 GOLDEN GLOBES

As soon as Leonardo Di Carpio opened the envelope to announce the best actress in a motion picture, I closed my eye hoping it would be Cate Blanchett. When he read her name, I jumped off my couch. Like Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett is one of the best actresses of all times. I have seen most of her films and she portrays any role thrown at her. From my previous post, I’ve seen the movie “Blue Jasmine” 6 times. When she came up the stage, she exuded class. She knows how to command presence and make the audience listen to her. On top of that, her stylist did an amazing job by letting her wear Armani Prive. She made Armani look fashion forward. She accessorized her black lace dress with diamond earrings, rings, and bracelet. When she turned around, you can see her sexy back. I believe she will be nominated for an Oscar and take home the trophy. I am glad she won.

FERRAGAMO'S COATS

The men’s show in Milan just started. I have been looking at the collections and I haven’t seen anything I like. To my surprise, I came across Ferragamo’s collection.  My peers know that I love bold stripes and color blocking. Shades of rust, blue, saffron, brown, and pale blue were among the colors used for next season. Amongst all the coats, I love the rust and blue combination. I believe these coats are great investment pieces for Fall 2014. I can’t wait to get my hands on them. It is time to save up and put them on my back. What am I talking? Winter is not over and I am looking forward for the cold weather again.
