Prada and Fendi did an amazing collection. These were the best designs I have seen for Spring 2014 in Milan. In Paris, Raf Simons delivered a superb collection for the house of Dior. He transported his guests to an enchanted garden filled with orchids, roses, birds of paradise, and exotic plants in different colors. People were mesmerized with the setting. As soon as the first look came out, it became a crescendo of drop dead gorgeous ensembles.  The famous bar jacket was modernized with slash details to show some little skin. The floral electric pleated skirt feminized the look. As the show progresses, you can see Raf introducing new proportions for the label. Electric pleats cut on the bias from the waist down to the hips. It gave an illusion to make his woman feel sexy and flirtatious. To add more youth to the collection, he adorned some of the pieces with hounds tooth badges. The true Raf came out when he showcased cocktail dresses with floral and graffiti prints. He sliced the fabric into vertical long pieces. As the model walks on the runway, the effect is like a flower in bloom.  In the evening category, the fully beaded asymmetrical dresses with dangling Swarovski beadwork were divine. He used the same bias cut electric technique to drape around the dresses. As the show is about to end, he sent two models in the classic Dior bar jacket.  From the front it looks like a normal couture suit. When the model turned around, the details were at the back. He inserted floral fabrics that resemble like a grid. The effect gave a day to evening look.

In the accessories department, the jewelry was impeccable. Necklaces and bracelets resemble like draping moss vines around their necks and wrists. He used these pieces to add color to the wardrobe.  The classic Dior bag came in full force. Muliti colored snakeskins, bright crocodiles, and lizards were the skins used to make the collection over-the-top luxurious. The pointy pumps were adorned with flower appliques.

The show didn’t stop from there. As soon as the first model stepped out to take her bow, Raf sent an army of marching women in unison with the Dior uniform look. Once again, he used the badge as the ID of his lady . The floral lame fabric were used in ball skirts, tops, dresses, and cocktail dresses. Raf gave life to the city of lights during fashion week. It was a phenomenal collection… another winning streak for the house of Dior. It was the smartest decision of the house to put Raf Simons on the Dior throne. It only takes a true artist to combine the old and new without being too literal. Bravo!!!

Last season, Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy paid homage to religion. He showcased different photographic prints of the Virgin Mary. I have been one of his avid followers of his work. I had to ask my salesperson from Barneys to track down all the shirts and accessories from that collection. For Fall 2013, his inspiration was all about the USA. What caught my attention was his fondness of the Doberman print. The dog symbolizes strength and masculinity. At times, the Doberman is being portrayed as the devil’s guardian. In the end, I know this collection will sell out. I have a hard time tracking these pieces. As a Taurus, I am sure that I will have these in my closet in a month’s time. The addiction never stops when it comes to statement pieces. I am glad that Givenchy became part of my everyday wardrobe.

It’s been months since I wrote something on my blog. I have been focusing more with other projects. It's time to get back and start writing. The August issue is out for all fashion magazines. There is only one magazine that caught my attention, W’s Jennifer Lopez cover. First of all, I have been an admirer of JLo’s style since the start of her career. We’ve seen her wearing daring outfits like the Versace number she wore for the Grammy awards. Her nipples made its debut on stage worldwide at the Oscars  in a fully beaded plunging neckline Zuhair Murad gown. She can do no wrong because she is Jennifer Lopez. She's been through a lot of success, pain, and hardship. She is the modern Cinderella of the 21st century. She inspires many women around the world to dream big.  For W Magazine’s August issue, I love how they turned her into a sexy, chic, and sophisticated woman. It was a great choice of the editors to pick Gucci’s Fall 2013 gown.  And of course, no one can miss her perfect hairstyle and make up. With the likes of Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Britney Spears; her staying power will never end. I haven't bought a magazine in a long time, but I am sure I will get this copy. For me, this is a very strong cover. Bravo!!!

Lately, I didn’t have the time to blog.  I have been very busy with other projects related to styling. My fascination with shoes never stops. I was on the hunt for the Harvana by Christian Louboutin.  Dong Ronquillo and I paid a visit to the men’s store in New York at the Meat Packing District. To my surprise, they have my size.  I was so excited to wear them. The next day, my assistant and I were doing market appointments. Suddenly, I grabbed her left arm before crossing the street. I told her that these shoes were pinching my toes. I ignored the pain. At the end of the day, my feet weren’t cooperating. I had to check if I had blisters… thank God I don’t have.  This past weekend, Daniella organized a dinner at Dos Caminos. I decided to wear the shoes. I walked from 55th Street and 6th avenue to 50th and 3rd avenue. I started feeling the pain again on my toes.  I kept on walking. By the time I reached the restaurant, I was experiencing pain.  I went to the bathroom to check on my toes. I was shocked that my two big toes were bleeding. I always come prepared. I brought my NEOSPORIN. After dinner, the ladies dropped me off on 55th and 3rd avenue. I told myself that I could walk back to my apartment. The alcohol didn’t help. I was experiencing more pain. I was so tempted to remove my shoes, but I didn’t. As soon as I reached my apartment, the wounds became deeper. I applied more ointment to avoid the pain.  God must be telling me to stop my addiction with shoes.  The Harvana’s are pretty, but extremely painful.

Men around the world will be excited for this great news I am about to share. Italian watchmaker, BRERA Orologi, launches its Gran Turismo Collection. This is the brand’s first innovative design by using Swiss Movement: Ronda 5030D, moving away from its traditional Miyota Quartz.
